Hello Ladies!
I hope those in the US that celebrated the 4th of July, had a great day! My poor pup, Truffles was up all night as our neighboorhood let of fireworks, then there was a storm! She gets very anxious and shakes. I felt so bad, yet she had to endure 2 nights of this ( Sunday and Monday). Gibson, my boy can sleep through anything
On to today. I have always liked a Safari look. Not that I am picturing myself out in the African wilderness, hunting wild boar. No, thank you very much. I will be safe in the comfort of my own home wearing outfit #2 the khaki dress I styled differently. I love the khakis, olive greens, rust shades that are so often associated with this style. Last week, I paired this khaki shirt dress, light and airy, with my new espadrilles from Zara, a woven brown straw clutch, and this wonderful jewelry in burgundy by Sylca Designs. I have worked with this mother/daughter team before and they always have such unique and stylish pieces.
Today, my outfit is styled around the on trend gold jewelry that was gifted to me by Sylca Designs. Both the necklace and the bracelet were provided to me by this wonderful company. Metallics are very much in this season, but even had they not been, I would have been “on the hunt” for some stand-out gold jewelry. Sylca Designs makes eco-friendly jewelry and the pieces do make a statement!. This is my 3rd collaboration with them.
This piece, that was gifted to me by Sylca Designs, “cascading coconut shell cascade in a beautiful gold statement necklace” perfect for this day look, or out on the town with a more formal dress. The bracelet, a gold multi-strand leather bracelet, would be the perfect accompaniment to the circular gold pieced statement necklace. I have a few silver pieces, but was really in the market for some gold as I love the look with earthy tones.
I thought I would wear the shirtdress as a long tunic or a thin khaki jacket. Pair it with a bit of color in the tank, white trousers, a leopard print bag, and this stand-out statement necklace, bracelet leaf earrings, and a pop of red in the shoe. In retrospect, my inspiration was the khaki shirtdress and my plan on using yet different accessories to style it in a different and unique way. The red block heels add a pop of color with this mostly neutral/metallic look.

July 5, 2016 at 6:54 amJess, this is, of course, my favorite way to style a button down shirt dress. I almost always wear my shirt dresses as jackets because I can never button them properly over my bosom. I love how you styled yours here. That necklace is everything! So my style. And I am really digging your leopard clutch. And, those red shoes are some of my favorites of yours, too. Really fabulous look! You look amazing, as usual!
