05 Dec Turning Heads Linkup-1ereAvenue- Joseph Ribkoff Brand-Holiday Outfit
As the Holiday approaches, I love to dress up various look for the season, be it for Holiday parties, going out to dinner, or Christmas Day itself. I am really looking forward to traveling to Harleysville, PA to visit with my husband’s parents, as we hit the road with the puppies. I have been decorating the house, and even though we won’t be here, I have enjoyed putting up the tree, garland, and decorating the mantel.
Here we are into December, and I want to introduce you to a Brand that is new to me that I am sure you will love-Joseph Ribkoff. Joseph Ribkoff is a premier Canadian designer, and I was contacted by one of the stores that sells the most of his Brand-1ereAvenue. I wanted to put together a Holiday look and this red blouse with black high-waisted pants, were one of my first choices.
So, when i think of the Holidays, i think of family, decor, the Meaning of Christmas, parties and recipes to enjoy. What is my “recipe” for this Holiday look-
1 part Red flowy blouse
Add off the shoulder stitching
2 parts beautiful statement sleeves with Guipire style lace
Rounded cut bottom.
Add in lengthy high-waisted skinny black pant to complete look.
Mix together and garnish with bold sparkly statement necklace and earrings. Add block heeled boots or shoes for style and gold clutch for more Holiday cheer. 🙂
1ereAvenue is the premier retailer, the largest retailer of Joseph Ribkoff designs. The store, located in the busy heart of Montreal, CA. With excellent service, they have been a family run business for thirty years. Joseph Ribkoff has been a leading force in the Canadian Fashion Industry and has been designing clothes for women since 1957. He provides women fashionable, elegant, and timely styles, also keeping up with the trends.
When asked to choose my first outfit, the statement sleeve lace blouse stood out to me, with its intricate, well made lace design and full sleeve. I loved the design of the elastic at the neckline, as it can be worn both off the shoulder and on. The length of this gorgeous blouse is perfect for both styles. I also love the rounded cut at the bottom of the blouse, giving more shape to the style. This lipstick red was an easy choice as not only is red trending and one of my favorite colors, but it is perfect for the Holiday season! The blouse is very comfortable, flowy and roomy, even in the size small I am wearing. The sizes come in S, M, L, XL and in other colors-champagne, off white, black, light powdered pink, and an eye catching neon pink!
With the fuller flowing top, this pair of pants by Joseph Riboff is the perfect choice, as it creates a balance with the proportions of this look. Think flowy top, off the shoulder or on, and the bottoms should be slim or straight legged. Both the blouse and pants are very well made, with a substantial feel, the quality is excellent. Yes! You have never seen me in black trousers ( in nearly 4 yrs on the blog) but these will be quite verstaile and are one piece every woman should have in her closet. These pants, “a Joseph Ribkoff’s skinny- legged high waisted pant comes with seamwork stitching in the form of panels down each leg in addition to elasticized waist and come unlined for added comfort.” I am wearing my typical size 4, in these dress pants and they are comfortable.
I have shown the look with the blouse tucked in to show the high waist, or left out. I also experimented with shoe choices, my favorite being my Jambu Anita black leather boots for even more height and length. With the blouse untucked, a pointed black heel or block heeled booties will add a leg lengthening effect, even if you aren’t five foot 9. From the website, Semi-sheer, with an elasticized neckline that can be worn on or off the shoulder, this Joseph Ribkoff top features a subtle keyhole cut-out in front, and Raglan bell sleeves finished with Guipure-style lace. The rounded hemline falls loosely below the hip.”
I wanted some Holiday sparkle, so i added my black metal ‘lace like” statement necklace by Ann Taylor, with my similar fillagree black earrings from Etsy. Another accessory fun for the Holidays was my gold bow clutch, with just enough room for a compact and some red lipstick from Charming Charlies.
I could also see this beautiful blouse with a pair of higher waisted plaid trousers or pencil skirt. Joseph Ribkoff also sells these faux leather leggings that would look great with this blouse. These pants are made from a polyester -spandex blend with comfort and easy pull on style. Joseph Ribkoff designs his slacks with many different styles-colorful prints, traditional black slacks, but with various lengths and added detail which makes them fun to wear.
If you are looking for a pair of black pants, do see all of the styles that Joseph Ribkoff offers. They have various leg lengths and widths, if you looking for something other than a skinny leg. I love these and these!
Red is THE hot color this season, both trending and for the Holiday. Do you wear red during the Season?
