Turning Heads Linkup- A Favorite Combination – Leopard and Red for Valentine’s Day

I love to wear red. It is such a bold statement and don’t be afraid to make it! Especially a day where red is popular-Valentine’s Day. I love the combination of leopard and red. Something classic and beautiful about it. I’ve styled a leopard maxi dress with some combat boots for some unexpected fun.

This dress from Zara is one I  bought last year. I love the longer length and can wear this for nearly every season. Combat boots are my favorite boot, these from Sofft, a Swedish Brand, bought years ago. I love the style and these aren’t as chunky as some showing now in the stores.

Red and leopard is a popular combination, but as you know, leopard, a neutral can match with any color! The longer length of this red duster, from Mango, adds to continue the lengthening look.  Do you have a long duster in your closet? I love that they are very versatile to wear with dresses, jeans, trousers, you name it!

We are here in Downtown Huntersville, which is a small little area of Main Street that the town wants to refurbish. Here we were by the new local coffee shop, where I am ready to park my butt soon and change the atmosphere of where I work on the blog. Quaint and cute, cappuccino and blogging is a very good combination!

What Happening?

As I mentioned on Friday’s post- Pantone’s Color of the Year, I am titrating down on pain medication and it has been difficult. Increased muscle pain and other symptoms make it tough, and I have to keep my mind and self distracted. So, we have been spending more time at home, until I feel a bit better.

I have been watching Seasons of “Botched on Bravo, as it is entertaining and what I call, “Fluff TV”. I always wonder where some of these younger people get the money for so many surgeries! Anyhow, the docs are funny and entertaining, and you can always catch a person who wants to become a human doll, elf or alien. There are people in car accidents and others who have congenital problems who really need it.

Another excellent show thus far is “The Outsider” directed by Jason Bateman, a story written by Stephan King. My Dad loved Stephen King, and I used to read his novels. This is about a murder in the town, in which a man ( Batemen) was accused of killing an 11 yr old boy. However, he is on video in two places at the same time- at a conference out of state for his job, and at a bus stop. It is one to watch!

Since this is about Valentine’s Day and adding some red to your outfit, you can wear something like this, a dress with a red duster, cardigan/jacket- or go for more red tones, like in yesterday’s post- Red and Burgundy for Valentine’s Day.

And what would talking about Valentine’s Day be like if I didn’t share pictures of my little Angels. It was cold this day, so Truffles is shaking and gave a look like- Hurry up mom! Gibby was ready as long as it was me. These little ones bring me such joy and love! I just had to mention them and my hubby as Vday nears. Isn’t it about showing love to those close to you?

Do you enjoy wearing red on Valentine’s Day? How do you celebrate it?

A gorgeous outfit, Jess! Love the way your pups match the outfit too.

Reducing your pain meds must be tough. Do your doctors expect your pain to decrease? Or are they hoping you can become accustomed to enduring more pain?

Hi Michelle, since it is about love on vday , I had to include my angels!
It has been a challenge, but I have access to my doctor where I can send him updates or ask questions. He told me when you lower the dose, it can take up to 2 weeks to settle at the new dosage.
My doc does expect my pain level to be nearly the same if not better when I come off the pain med. What happens is you build up a sensitivity in your brain, which causes your brain changes. By slowly decreasing, it is hoped that I will maintain my currently low pain level. thank you for asking!

I love leopard print and red together! I think I have the same dress…it’s not warm enough to wear mine here yet though. Layering a long cardigan over it and wearing tights and boots looks great – I’ll try that when it’s a bit milder! Thanks for linking up Jess!

I have a leopard top on today and I was thinking, wow I should pair my hot pink cardi with it… and it does look great! I wish I had a red cardi or sweater, because I love how this leopard dress looks with the red. Perfect for V-Day! Love when you include pics of your pups on here! So sweet!

This dress was a great buy, it can certainly be worn most of the year. I love leopard with red and hot pink. I’ve been watching botched, too! It’s weirdly addictive-haha! I hope you get your meds sorted out. I’ve had knee pain for the last two months, so while it’s not chronic like yours, I can appreciate laying low.

I am so glad that you were able to get out a little bit while you are struggling with this titration. And that Jason Bateman show sounds pretty fascinating!
