Turning Heads Linkup – A Favorite Fashion “Uniform”

Do you stand in front of your closet with an empty stare? One “uniform” I like to wear and put together is this look I am wearing today which will look great  no matter the outing.

The “Uniform”

The uniform is the Bootie-jeans ( darker denim in Fal and Winter) -sweater-Moto jacket.

Now, of course, quality matters, but add these things together, and I love a look that is modern and stylish

I am wearing a burgundy chunky sweater in XS from Target and I love the texture. They have it in Plus Size under $20!

I prefer a darker jean as I think they create a “dressier” look than lighter washes. I tend to save lighter washes for the Spring and Summer.

I received these jeans from Mott and Bow in the Fall and do like them as a skinny jean. Read THE POST here.

I am wearing my usual size 4 in these jeans.

The moto jacket is one of my favorites as I love the darker maroon shade as the collar is worn two ways- it can be buckled and keep your neck warm, and worn down.

What’s Been Going On?

We’ve been regular moviegoers in January, which seems to be the slowest month of the year! Am I right?

We recently saw, 1917, the movie that won “Best Picture/Drama” at the Golden Globes. Great movie! We had been to see Bombshell, Uncut Gems, and finally a movie that was captivating! The story is about 2 British men that have to cross enemy lines ( German) and pass a message onto a General explaining why they should stop their attack. For me, I loved the way the movie presented the point of view from 2 soldiers and the hardships and dangers they faced. Many times you are seeing a whole platoon.

I’ve been doing some cooking and find it relaxing! I need to cook more often. I mentioned the butternut squash soup I made,  and hubby wants to make a winter soup soon. Give me that and a delicious hunk of good bread with butter!  MMmm.

I totally have a go-to outfit—it’s a blazer, T-shirt, jeans, and either sneakers or ankle boots. It’s the best no-brainer ever!

Thanks so much for the feature my Dear. This outfit you are wearing is the perfect “uniform” for several seasons. It is one to be copied, with the exception of that beautiful hair you have. We all wish we had your radiant healthy hair. Kudos!!

I love your neck scarf! I have so many silk scarves and need to wear them more often, although will probably have to wait till spring because it’s SO cold here right now!

These are great tips for a “uniform”. I need to remember that the next time I’m staring. Or come up with a Florida uniform…hmmm. 😉 Although today I’m bundled up. It’s so cold in our house but it’s supposed to warm up. I haven’t been out to the movies in awhile but we did rent Maleficient 2 and I enjoyed that. Have a wonderful week Jess!

I love these rich autumnal colours, especially on you, Jess. You look absolutely gorgeous!
I haven’t seen 1917 yet but after reading your little comment on it, I think I just might! We binge watched The Witcher on Netflix and absolutely loved it. Have you seen it? Not sure if it’s your cup of tea though!!

Jess, we do all have that outfit we reach for! I, too, have my “uniform.” I love yours. The moto jacket with jeans and booties is definitely a go-to. And you always style everything beautifully with just the right bag, jewelry, and scarf.

Jess, I absolutely love this outfit. It is such a classic look and perfect for when you find yourself staring at your closet wondering what to wear. These colors are so great on you, too. I need to go to more movies, but I never seem to make the time for myself.

All the time and having a uniform really helps with that struggle! I love your motto jacket. It takes your look up a notch and really add an edge to it. I am smitten! I am not into cooking either. I just love to eat! But then again, I have my son and hubby looking to me for food. Oy… Butternut squash soup sounds delicious and perfect. I would like a bowl please! 🙂

This sounds like the perfect ‘uniform’ to me and it’s stylish and I love the color of your moto jacket. Ohhh, you have me craving soup now! I’ve been wanting to make some homemade soup… and, yes!! The bread and butter with it is so good, too!

I love uniforms! It makes dressing so much easier. I need to replace the leather jacket I had. As much as I like moto jackets, I think I’d prefer a longer style.

It’s a great winter uniform. I find that the most important items to wear in winter are my shoes and coat cause no one sees the rest of my outfit anyway.

Super look Jess! I love your uniform from head to toe. I got a silk scarf for Christmas and I am hoping to tie it around my neck like this – not sure I can pull it off. Love the moto jacket and leopard booties too.
My husband and sons were talking about seeing 1917, they are anxious to go! I need to check out that butternut squash soup recipe, I love a good (and easy) soup! Oh and YES to good bread and butter!
