Turning Heads Linkup- Add Color with Accessories

Hi friends!

Mama’s got a brand new bag! 🙂 I love nice handbags and have a bit of a collection that I enjoy. One color I was missing in my collection was red. I think I had looked this Fall for red bags until my eyes turned blood shot. ( ok, exaggeration) but I am picky on style and quality. I mentioned to hubby I would like a red bag- and over Christmas he surprised me with this beauty.- The Prada Vitello Daino Shoulder Bag. The mid-sized bag with leather bows and Italian leather was love at first sight!

Bag Love

Now, I did tell him to look on secondhand sites and Ebay as long as he knew it could be verified, and a “birdy” told me it was bought on The Real Real. I am a fan of secondhand shopping, and had been looking there at red bags. I have added some from The Real Real below in affiliate links. You can read the description as they list the condition of each bag.

Anyhow, I just love the blue-red bag and laugh at the lock, as I don’t keep many things locked in a bag.. unless some doggy raw hides and some makeup up constitutes something worth stealing! This color suits me more than an orange red, and I often prefer wearing this shade as well. The bows in the front are a pretty detail, and I love the clean lines of the bag otherwise.

Outfit/How Else You Could Style

You will see me wear this often, as I would look for a pop of color to wear with a more neutral look. I styled this black column look with my Poshmark purchase from last year, my cropped leopard jacket, Add a touch of color with my brooch, another way to add color to your neutral look.

i’m in LOVE with these wax modern coated black jeans from LOFT as they look like leather, and are made so well! They have more of a thickness to them than a previous pair I owned by them. They have stretch and are quite comfy!

If you go for all neutral shades, ( leopard is a neutral) then add color with your accessories. Some bold red earrings, a larger statement necklace, and/or of course, your bag.

With dressing in one color ( column dressing) another great option would be a kimono. You can see how I did this styling in this post with my Zara velvet kimono.

It seems this week was a bit about animal prints – yesterday’s post on snakeskin and today with leopard. Do you love it?

If I go for a red lip, it has to be a blue-red with my skin tone. I recently got my nails done for the Holidays using the dip powder in red. More on that later!:-)

Wow, such a fabulous gift! I love this outfit Jess – in fact I wore a similar one yesterday, only a leopard print jumper rather than a jacket. Great minds think alike 😉 Thanks for linking up!

    Hi Jess,

I hope you are having a great New Year so far! I love your coat, I just bought one very similar to it. I was wondering if I wanted to wear my leopard booties, thought it might be overkill, but now seeing your outfit- I say no! You look fabulous. Just curious if you do self photography? After 4 yrs of blogging I am still struggling with photography, I don’t think I have the right equipment….maybe you can share what you use?

    Best,

    Valerie

Thank you so much Val! I have this one cropped and a swing coat I bought secondhand too that I love. I never tired of leopard! Thanks so much! My hubby takes my photos. He has a DSL Canon camera, uses different lenses. I can find out more for you, I’ll ask!

A beautiful bag indeed! The red is a nice hue and those bows are perfection. Your hubby did well picking this out. I also love how it isn’t in your face designer bag and that the logo is hidden in the back. I don’t know what it is but I used to love logos. These days I still love designer items but more on the subtle side. I hope your 2019 is off to a great start and happy Tuesday!

That darling husband of yours really picked out a great bag! Isn’t it funny how when you actually focus in on something, it’s harder to find? Why is that? I really like reds and pinks with leopard, nice choice, Jess.

Oh how I love a pop of red! I snagged a red Kate Spade years back on sale at the outlet mall and love to carry it for a splash of color. Of course black on black is my fave pairing when I’m not feeling getting dressed so I love this entire look. What’s really got me drooling, however, is the wax coated jeans. Totally just added to my cart! Have a great Tuesday Jess!
