Turning Heads Linkup-Black and White with a Pop of Lavendar

Hello Friends

This has to be one of my favorite skirts. I don’t usually gravitate toward stripes, but I love the sides of this skirt designed at an angle to draw the eye inward. I’ve bought a couple of  striped spring items, but they have to have some unique detail that attractes me to it.

One can never have too many pencil skirts! They are classic and perfect for any shape. I found this skirt on Poshmark from Ann Taylor for a mere $20 and it was like new! I also bought this Zara Victorian-esque like top in black lace from Poshmark. I love the gold buttons down the front giving the top a military feel and the tiny delicate gold buttons in the back adding to the romantic look.

Generally when I wear black and white I like to add color somewhere as with my fair skin it is almost needed. Where I would typically wear color around my face, with a scarf or necklace, I decided just to keep the black and white theme ( even in my new shoes) and just add my lavendar Coach bag. Also, I wanted to show the lace neckline, which adds to the style. I also love texture in an outfit, and the details which win me over every time!

These pointed kitten heels with the black strap and silver heel were the perfect compliment, other times I would choose a printed or bright color heel.

Jessica, thank you, thank you, thank you, for coming out and supporting my first linkup venture. These type of things can be a bit nerve racking for me. The minute I saw your post (love that skirt) , I made sure I was signed up on Poahmark. Actually, I was already signed up-just didn’t remember it. Well, I already have some Tori Burch favorites listed. You look great as usual and thank you again. Take care, Terri

Jess I think the combination of black and white stripes and lace works beautifully – I’m like you though in needing a splash of colour…!

    Thank you for hosting 🙂

That black lace top is so pretty with this b/w striped pencil skirt! I have a similar skirt and I always pair white on top with it, I should def. try black!

Jess, this is a lovely outfit. Lace is such a great way to take an outfit up a notch. You did a fabulous job of print mixing with the lace on the top and the stripes on the skirt. And I am loving that bag. So pretty. – Amy

Your skirt is so fabulous—I could wear it with anything. And I’m like you–I usually wear color too, but the bag fits the bill nicely!

I love this black and white outfit! The unique detail of the skirt is great! I’m always drawn to stripes, but I now try to make sure that they are a bit unique so that I don’t have basically the same striped pieces over and over…

The lavender bag is very nice, too!

Thanks for the link up & Happy Tuesday!

Oh your lavender bag is beautiful against the black and white outfit! 🙂 It’s funny, I don’t have any printed pencil skirts but I am wearing my striped maxi skirt today and I’ve linked up my most recent post where I’m wearing it in 30 different ways. Really is a stripey kind of day, haha!

Thank you for the link up!

Hope you are having a really good start to the week.
