Turning Heads Linkup – Blogger Inspired Look – Pink, Grey and Taupe

When we see other bloggers day in and day out, we are bound to be inspired by some of the looks they wear. I love loved this sot color palette, as it looks romantic, soft and so pretty! See, just who inspired me and how I styled this look!

Cheryl of Cheryl Shops inspired me to put together a soft pastel palette with taupes, greys, and pinks. I love the look above, and even though I did not recreate the look, I used the color palette to create my look of the day, with pieces I had in my closet. I will also note, that next year, I will be after a few blush colored sweaters.

On another note, boy am I glad I got these pictures when I did! It has been raining now stop and my front and back yard is starting to resemble a small pond! I mean, I live near Lake Norman, not ON Lake Norman! It has been tricky getting blog photos when the weather is so lousy!

The Outfit

Even though the only brown tone in Cheryl’s outfit is the pointy taupe booties, the rich chocolate brown adds a wonderful contrast to the soft pink and is within the color palette of the neutral tones and blush pinks. I added a lilac floral silk scarf to the mix for more color contrast.

Chocolate brown or  “Brown Granite” is one of the colors that will be showing in stores and online from the Pantone Spring Color selections, and I am a happy camper! I love dark browns and foresee it with my safari looks in the terms of belts, bags, and accessories. If you missed that post on Pantone’s Colors for Spring/Summer, have a read! 🙂

This outfit was created with the color scheme in mind, as I paired this Mango metallic threaded brown sweater, with the taupe/grey lace skirt I have had for years from LOFT.

My blush pink moto jacket has been a favorite piece of mine that I bought from Mango a year or so ago. Love this one by BLANKNYC on SALE)  Zara sold this tweed vintage-inspired bag last year and I thought it was sweet. My Marc Fisher taupe booties have been worn quite often. ( sold out, but love this style)

I also think the pink and lilac are me trying to add a “bit of Spring” to the look. I am ready for it, not the Spring showers mind you, but the warmer temps and sun!

I’ve been in the zone styling neutrals and soft palettes this week, so if you missed yesterday’s mix of whites and pattern, read- Textured Look with White Jeans.

Since I recently bought a treadmill, I have to wait until April to buy Spring clothes!  Boy, isn’t that when you see everything you would like to buy on-line? I have joked with my hubby saying that I will be on the computer- March 31 at 11:59 purchasing away! hehe. In the meantime,  I’ve pinned some of my favorite spring dresses and items I am interested in on Pinterest recently. Follow me HERE.

NOW IT IS TIME TO PARTY! AS ALWAYS I LOVE SEEING YOUR POSTS AND OUTFITS. PLEASE DO VISIT AT LEAST 2 BLOGGERS WHEN YOU LINKUP. I KNOW IT CAN MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY!

Lovely textures, Jess. I had a lace skirt, but didn’t wear it much. The inspiration from Cheryl was a good choice.

I love this look Jess! Neutrals are so trending for spring and I really consider the soft pink a neutral because it goes with everything! The leather jacket is fabulous and the lace detail on the skirt adds such a nice element of texture!

What a lovely surprise, Jess! I’m so tickled that my look inspired you, and I love your interpretation of the color palette—you always combine textures in such a beautiful way, and here you took it one step further with the lace skirt, tapestry bag, and hosiery. Such a pretty look!

Such a gorgeous colour combination! The dark brown is lovely with the soft pink. The scarf is beautiful and the tweed bag is fabulous…I recently bought one from Kurt Geiger, they’re so classic and elegant.

Help! I purchased a pair of grey jeggings while shopping with my friend (note to self: shop alone) and I didn’t try them on at the time. I recently tried them on and they “bunch” at the ankle. I have a pair of grey, suede booties coming in to go with the jeggings and I don’t think tucking them into booties will look right.

It’s too late to return the jeggings and now I must have them hemmed. How should jeggings look with ankle booties and what length should they be hemmed.

    Thx for any input.

That is such a soft pretty color palette. The weather has made things difficult this year. There hasn’t been a lot of snow which does make for pretty pictures, but the rain, wind and some days extreme cold have really been a challenge.

The weather is so crazy, it was super hot last week and now it’s a bit cooler this week but it has been almost too sunny. I hope it dries up near you soon, all that water is no joke!
