Turning Heads Linkup – Casual Look with Fall Colors

Morning friends!

Since I don’t have my Fall weather exactly yet, what is another way to bring Fall into your wardrobe? Wearing Fall colors of course! Today I am sharing a casual look wearing two different pairs of shoes for a different look. Im incorporating some of my favorite Fall shades into this look- Olive and Grey.

How are you, friends? I hope you enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. I mentioned we went to OMB Copper, one of the breweries here in town. Hubby is the beer lover. Me, no. I have tried to like beer, but that kind of defeats the point if you have to try to like it! I’ll stick to my wine.

Anyhow, we later went to another brewery just to talk, hang out and enjoy the atmosphere with the pups. Charlotte’s ASPCA was there and I made my way to pet each dog that was up for adoption. You see, I am drawn to pups like a magnet. I am the 12 yr old girl that approaches everyone to ask if she can pet your dog. I truly want to do something to volunteer in Dogland, but am not sure what I can do. I need to start my research. I told my hubby, if it was up to me, I probably would have taken all of the dogs home from yesterday’s visit.

Anyhooo.. On to the outfit. It has been a tad bit cooler here in the South, but not cool enough for Fall clothes and that you still don’t see the beads of sweat running down your neck as your hair sticks to it. That heat is still there, and as much as I would like to “Wish it away”, it would get “colder here until November. So, I decided to wear Fall colors in today’s look. I bought this striped midi dress years ago at Target, and it is one of my favorites due to the comfort factor. I love the look of a long sleeveless midi dress with a long duster, so I reached for my olive ribbed duster from Anthropologie I bought last year on Poshmark. My Rebecca Minkoff bag in grey Fog would go nicely as well as my Andre Assous sandals that were gifted last year. I also love the look of a long necklace and olive drop earrings to continue the long line of the outfit.

I’ve styled my hair in hot rollers in these pics. If you missed the last post- My Hair- How I Style it, Products I Use- have a read!

Want to change it up a bit? Wear sneakers with that casual midi dress! I’ve been wanting the opportunity to wear my Converse Chucks and here it is. I decided to style it with sandals and then with the sneakers, giving off a more casual vibe.

My new neighbor’s dog, Daisy! She was so excited to see me.

You are definitely a fall color girl with your gorgeous ginger hair!
It’s really hard to shoot wearing sweaters in 95 degree temperatures!
I apologize for not following your posts better. I have been swamped with work and the event that I really haven’t had time to be on Facebook or write a blog post.
Hopefully I can crank out posts and see you more often!

It’s not quite “fall” weather here in San Franciscoβ€”we always have an Indian summer and I’m not mad at it! Love your transitional look with the longer cardigan and fall colors, though!

Thanks so much for the feature Jess! I love the combination of grey and olive. The dress looks great with both the sandals and the Converse. Our weather has turned cooler and it definitely feels autumnal now. I’m not going to pack my Summer clothes away just yet though in case it turns warm again. Well, I can I hope!

Love the olive and gray, Jess! I’m like you in terms of doggies. We just adopted a new little girl to be a buddy to our dog we adopted almost two years ago. It was hard to pick cause I wanted to bring them all home! There’s something missing in a home without a dog, you know?

    Have a wonderful week,
    xx Darlene

I’ll take wine over beer any day! Ha! I love your curls from the rollers, so pretty! Wearing Fall colors before the temps are actually Fall temps is a great idea. I love that you paired the dress with Converse!

I love olive green AND chevron stripes. They are very figure flattering. Really cute outfit. Reminds me, I’ve got to get an olive green duster like that for fall!

You definitely look ready for fall! What a flattering and fun chevron dress. I am looking at it wondering if I can crochet something like this… I have had fall designs on my brain. This week, I am sharing a sweater that I am hosting a crochet-a-long for on my blog. Trying to build up the courage to do a photo shoot with it – hard to overcome the anxiety of being in front of a camera that isn’t held by my hand. That, and the 90 degree weather we are still having.

Autumn colours are so good on you Jess. Your hair is always so lovely. Your weekend sounds a lot of fun but I’m with you, not a beer drinker either. Many thanks for hosting, enjoy your week.
