Turning Heads Linkup Chicos Leopard Wrap and Red Velvet Booties

Happy Tuesday friends!

It is finally getting a bit warmer here in NC. with balmy temperatures in the 50s! I am basically a cold weather “wimp’, even though I grew up in Pittsburgh. I also used to teach “LifeSports” at a private school here, and just dreaded the winter, as the school didn’t have a gym… the outdoors were the gym, and I would dread having to teach flag football to 40 kids in the cold. If you are starting to get in that “Spring frame of mind” check out yesterday’s post, as I styled a tunic/lace dress from Joseph Ribkoff.  Today, howecer, I  am bundled up  with my Chicos finge leopard wrap, a surprise gift they sent to me before Christmas.

I love wearing neutrals from time to time, even though color is my favorite to style, a neutral look can be very chic and stylish as well. Leopard is on trend, but so very timeless! Chicos sent me this weighty fringed wrap and a gold bag initialed with a “J”, very thoughtful! I am using it for a makeup bag. This ruana is thick and warm, and the fringe gives it extra style.

For this layered look, I paired my camel sweater with soft black jeans from Fabrizio Gianni. I have been looking forward to wearing my red velvet Zara booties, that were a steal before Christmas. I paid $30! The pop of red is the bit of color that is always fun to add to your neutral look. I typically love to add color to a neutral look through accessories, shoes or bags.

The “piece de la resistance” is my new Brahmin bag I purchased  using $$ I received at Christmas. You know when you look at a bag, and then you keep going back to look at it? I have a few Brahmin bags and I love their texture and design. The vintage ladylike shape and front buckle really appealed to me. I love the color and have wanted a rich brown bag in addition to my Louis Vuitton. It is medium sized and has a thick strap to alternate carrying. I am liking medium-small bags these days, as with big bags i can never find anything!

The sun is hitting these booties, they are a red velvet.

How do you enjoy wearing neutrals? Tell me about it in the comments, I love to hear from you!

Check out  Chicos for some chic pieces for your wardrobe!

I just got a pair of similar booties in blue velvet and I’ve been struggling with how to style them. I love this neutral wrap in leopard with them and I think I am going to try something similar. Thanks for inspiring me!!!

Love this whole outfit but especially the booties and the bag!

I’ve never heard of that brand of handbag before, they have some gorgeous ones.

I tried on those same booties but gave them a pass as they weren’t on sale. You got lucky! I love them on you and I found the heel height and block heel very comfy, plus they just POP. Great buy!

It has warmed up to above zero here and a nice break from the horrible cold we’ve been having. I don’t expect it will last long though.

Love your look today! I would need the wrap in a cool tone like grey and black tho. I have 3 Brahmin hand bags and adore them…they can get a bit heavy once filled and my shoulders hurt some days 😞. I must check out this style…never seen it! Love your shoes!!!

Jess, I love those booties, what a steal!!!! That wrap is gorgeous and I agree styling neutrals looks chic. But I am thrilled with the color in the boots – so pretty and fun! Your new Brahmin bag is so pretty too. I just bought a Kate Spade bag but it’s a little smaller than what I’m used to so I’m not sure how long I’ll use it. I’m trying to carry less but sometimes it’s nice not to worry about space!
    Happy Tuesday!

You look fantastic in neutrals. The red bootees and leopard print add drama. I veer from wanting to wear mostly grey and black in the winter to trying to make an effort with bright colors. The cold weather is unrelenting (here at least) and it’s nice to hear you are already talking about spring.
