02 May Turning Heads Linkup-Earth Tones and Winkwood Wooden Sunglasses
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a better weekend and it seems things are improving coming of my medication. That and getting dry needling treatments are what are my saving grace. Today I decided to put together a layered outfit of earth tones with rust, browns, gold and wooden accessories. I am wearing a pair of sunglasses by Winkwood. You may be familiar with Winkwood as Emma has the same pair and Dawn and Grace have the round style. This style of pink, zebrawood and carved leaves is known as Autumn Tale.
I was pretty confident that a round sunglass shape may not be as becoming on me as I would look better in square shaped glasses. I also loved the natural wood and the leaf design, making them a unique pair from the start. How great is the pretty pink leaf carved box too? The pink-purple sunglass shade was something different for me too, so it was fun to try something different! Winkwood is a company out of Melbourne, Australia who designs are unique, fun and unexpected. ” We use a number of different material types that are resistant to standard wear and tear, maintains colours for longer and floats in water, whilst being extremely comfortable and easy to wear. All of our lenses are tested to reflect or filter out 99% of UVA and UVB light, with wavelengths up to 400 nanometres (UV400).”
I am wearing a fluttery tank rust top layered over my one and only basic white tee, a pair of dark camel toned cargo pants, rust heels with a wooden base, and a brown straw clutch. I added a gold bracelet ( c/o Sylca designs) and gold necklace. I also added my Jord wooden watch to this earth toned look. Quite a 360 from my embroidered sheer dress right? I figured I would layer while I could before it gets too hot here in North Carolina!
Adding wooden details to the look with my Jord watch. Both my new Winkwood Sunglasses and watch are Zebrawood
This woven brown clutch I bought on Poshmark for a mere $10!
These rust block heels would continue the wood-earthy look.
I love the fact that they offer great sun protection and float in water. I love to swim and have lost a pair of sunglasses out to sea, so it’s nice to know. They are very light and comfortable to wear. Our pool has opened already this weekend, so I will be wearing these with no fear of losing them!
