Turning Heads Linkup – Embroidered White Blouse and Light Boyfriend Jeans

Hi friends!

Thanks for joining me today on Turning heads Tuesday! I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and got to enjoy it outside with the family. Nothing says Spring and Summer like a detailed white blouse. With all of the beautiful styles out there in stores, I could find myself addicted to buying nothing but white blouses, but I have  some control! 🙂  I have a few in my closet, a trimed tank is white lace, a white corset top, polka dot blouse, and a few more, but i am sure I will add one or two more beyond this style this year.  It was love at first sight with this top… the scalloped trim and eyelet design just won me over. It is light , in cotton, and perfect for a casual or dressy look.  For reference, it is a size 4, and roomy, purchased on Mango.

I knew I was due for a dress or skirt, but I thought it would pair perfectly with a pair of lighter boyfriend jeans. What else says Spring or summer to me, but espadrilles, so I am wearing a fun cognac pair by Franco Sarto I found on 6pm last year.  WIthout repeating my straw circle bag. I decided upon my straw clutch- I couldn’t resist! Did you all go “crazy” with the Memorial Day Sales, or did you restrain yourself ? 🙂 I did buy 2 dresses for summer, and look forward to sharing them on the blog!

We did some “around the house’ things this weekend, having to choose colors for our Great Room, foyer, hall and stairway. I have chosen all of the colors for the house so far, so hubby wanted me to decide, and he would make his contribution. We put colors up on the darker sections of the wall, then lighter, choosing three shades of blue for the great room and two shades for the foyer etc. The great room will be a steel blue color with a chocolate brown sectional and dark brown leather coffee table- I am getting new curtains, so I am thinking navy might look beautiful.  I wanted a serene color, a peaceful shade, that would make it welcoming to enter the room. Most of our house is neutrals- taupes, golden yellows, olive, a lighter blue and now sage and steel blue. Looks like I have nature in mind- browns, greens and blues. 🙂 So, I will be thrilled when the painter comes at the end of June and its done!

I know I mentioned my mom will visit the 3rd week of June, and we have already started the planning, although we get a bit ambitious and not able to do half the stuff we plan, nevertheless… If taking a boat our on Lake Norman doesn’t pan out, my sis, neice, husband and I, along with the pups will take the day in July. We have some good times planned..hopefully most outdoors!

Back to the Look

These light denim BF jeans are from LOFT, I bought them years ago and liked the baggier, boyfriend fit. The flowier top makes for a pretty, casual look and I will also be wearing this with either white trousers or white denim shorts as the weather gets hotter.   I adore an all white look in the warm months. Speaking of staying cool, I wrote about  Linen – Trending Now- ( have a read!) You may be seeing this top styled different ways this summer, seeing how versatile pretty white blouses are! Speaking of wardrobe staples for the warmer months, I know I will be wearing my denim skirt in the Spring/Summer- read about it in this post-Not Interested in Shorts? Wear a Denim Skirt this Summer.

Sometimes in the summer, I like to keep accessories simple. I am wearing a pair of white ball drop earrings from Target, added my straw clutch from Mango, and for a touch of color, added my favorite cuff gifted  from Uncommon Goods.

Are you a fan of white blouses in the Spring/Summer? What details do you like to see on a white blouse?

Check out this post when I wore these boyfriend jeans- Casual Look with Boyfriend Jeans

Outfit details

Mango blouse  ( sim-very pretty, exact)

Trying to play catch-up with my blog reading… I share your love of white tops in the Summer. My closet overfloweth! This is a simply gorgeous one, so feminine. It’s perfectly paired with the boyfriend jeans. Isn’t there something so appealing about combining a piece so feminine with a piece that’s a little more masculine or edgy? The accessories are wonderful! Especially in love with that bracelet…so gorgeous! All your redecorating sounds like fun! That’s how we spent our Memorial weekend. We had been completely re-doing our main bath and my husband was determined to completely finish it that weekend! Well, he did! Nice to be out from under it and ready to move on to the next thing!

Hi Jess! I too have an addiction to white and also cream color blouses! I just keep on buying them…the good thing is that they go with everything! I also have those same Loft jeans and they are the best! I have loved their pants this season. You look great as always! This is one of my favorite looks, so classic and goes nearly everywhere!

Jess, I just love that white blouse! The detailing is so beautiful. I’m with you – I could buy nothing but white tops all spring and summer, there’s just something about them that’s addicting. All the textures you have going on make this outfit even more interesting. That cuff and straw clutch as well as the cognac espadrilles just all add so much. Love it!
We had the majority of our house painted last fall and now I am itching to get the bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room done too but I’ll have to wait a bit – we have had so many expenses with graduation and upcoming summer vacation. Sounds like you have a lot of fun planned – I hope you get to do it all!
