29 Oct Turning Heads Linkup – Ewoks for Halloween!
I couldnt help myself this year when it was time to dress up for Halloween. Initially, I thought of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, as timely as it is with Judy Garland in the spotlight, but another idea came into fruition.
I have white boots on – hard to tell with the grass.
Halloween for the Dogs
The first idea was I would be Dorothy, I had a blue gingham dress, a basket and a little dog who could be Toto for the evening! ( Did you know the real Toto was a girl pup?) Then I thought Gibby would make a great Lion, however when I looked up lion costumes for little dogs, I saw a lame lion headpiece and that was it! No tail, nothing else special… it looked cheap. Hubby was going to be a Scarecrow- he’s tall and lanky 🙂
Then I thought, people say shih tzus look like Ewoks and thus, the costume ideas began.
I do enjoy Star Wars, but I haven’t attending any conventions or go crazy over it either..I do love the old school George Lucas Star Wars .. The little Teddy bear looking Ewoks would be perfect for my little ones.
I would be Princess Leia and most of the costume could be found in my closet. White dress, white boots and wig ( bought from Amazon). The only trouble I had was the “cinnamon bun” hair at each side would not cover my ears completely, but this would have to do!
Hubby would be Luke Skywalker, his outfit I bought on Amazon. I told him it was just his excuse to get a “light saber”!
If you need a refresher on Ewoks.. here you go!
Halloween Fun and Costumes
What is perfect is the scene we have in the back of our house. We have lots of greenery and woods right behind us, where the Ewoks sprang from.
My boy Gibson, and girl Truffles were such good sports to do this blog post! Little do they know they will have to wear the costumes again on Halloween. There was no problem with the brown onesie, although seeing them in the same pajamas did make me laugh.
They werent big fans of the headpiece for the Ewoks but really so good once we started taking pictures. I put them on them a little too early and they would shake their heads until the top part came off!
We have taken lots of Holidays pictures with the pups and they are very good with me standing behind my husband, promising them carrots and treats if they would look at mommy! They were so patient and did a great job!
I loved the idea of the little Ewoks coming out of the woods, so I thought it was the perfect scene.
My husband “came alive” when we began to use his new Light saber we bought on Amazon. A fan of Star Wars, he got into “Skywalker Mode” and was wielding the light saber, even though he had no one to fight with. Ah,well, its all about the image.
The costume was quite impressive with a cumber bun belt and several pieces from a hooded robe to brown pants.
Now, I have to make the Halloween cocktails for the evening, and I think I am going with these Cider Sidecars.
Remember I mentioned carving the pumpkins to look like Gibby and Truffles?? Well, I don’t know what I was thinking that day, or what alien being inhibited my body to say such a thing! I must have had delusions of Grandiuer, and I am lucky to carve a pumpkin that doesn’t have a crooked smile!
Why just why?
It does glow in the dark. Hubby took his role a little “too seriously” Lol 🙂
If your dying for an Fall Outfit post- check out yesterday’s Mott & Bow- Premium Denim . 10% off using JJ10 until the end of Nov.
All the costumes were bought on Amazon and from my own closet 🙂
Wishing you a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Posted at 18:24h, 29 OctoberOMG! These costumes are all absolutely adorable! Even you ear buns! Lol! But, of course, your little doggies steal the show!! They are just the cutest things imaginable!! My Scooter was a Cairn Terrier–we lost him in May–and when people asked me what that was, I just said a Toto! That would’ve been a cute theme, too. You are just so creative! My Halloween costume this year consists of a pumpkin tee and jeans!! Lol! Thanks for sharing–made my day!
