Turning Heads Linkup -Fall Leaf Kimono Styled with Target Dress

Hello friends.

I hope you are well and enjoyed the weekend

I had to style my velvet leaf kimono with my chestnut colored Target dress,. Layering is always fun to do and what adds more creative spark to dressing for Fall and Winter.

The Outfit

What I love about kimonos is that they become the centerpiece of the look. I picked up the colors in the leaves and all the warm tones you know I love. These Franco Sarto boots I’ve had for years. It was time to bring out the LV Speedy as well.

Try this combination. Do you have a kimono for Fall you are waiting to style? Kimonos look great with dresses, pants, jeans. It has been pretty chilly here in NC, actual Fall weather we don’t usually experience until late Oct, early Nov. I love it though!

I’ve also been using Olaplex #3 once a week, and I love what it does for my hair.

What’s Goin On

I keep on trucking with the blog, at least keeping my mind on things I want to keep my mind on. I saw the surgeon last week and am waiting for a Surgery Coordinator to schedule the surgery and a Covid test I have to take as well. I hope it is done soon! The pain has lessened from where it was, but it hasn’t gone away.

In addition to my physical health, I had to get out a bit, my mental health is just as important! I felt I could sit outside and listen to live music, so we went to a Vineyard 30 minutes away. ( so if I had to leave)  I had packed a sandwich and the surgeon told me i could have a glass of wine.  Boy, it was chilly, though, Fall is in the air here in Charlotte! Of course, even when I am not feeling well, what makes me feel better? Yes! Petting doggies! I made my rounds and had my eye on petting this all white ( except the head) Collie. She let me pet her and then got into “bellyrub pose” 🙂  I then saw the most interesting pooch! A pretty girl ,Irish Wolfhound named Enya, after the Irish Singer, this pup had wiry hair, was so big, and so sweet. I told the English chap ( her owner) that she must have sensed I too was Irish! They are considered the tallest dog, and Enya was the “runt”!

I have also been decorating for Fall and will share my decor and a few recipes on Friday!

Sweet lady, hoping you receive news this week about the scheduling for your surgery. The waiting is the worst. I always just want to get it over with and move into the recovery and restoration of health.

Glad you were able to snuggle some pups. I have had a special place in my heart for Irish wolfhounds since I read the children’s picture book The Mightiest Heart. It is the best story and has spectacular illustrations. I am certain you would love it.

Now, that outfit. Oh, my gravy. LOVE so much. The autumn colors are my favorites. That pumpkin color, the rich velvet burnout on the kimono, those great boots. Just picture perfect.

One of the joys of autumn/fall for me is seeing your hair against all the fantastic colors – oranges, russets, browns. Love the kimono, such a rich texture and pattern! Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday.

What a beautiful kimono! Styled perfectly, of course! I’m so sorry you have to have surgery, but you will feel so much better afterward! 😧 Irish Wolfhounds are my absolutely favorite dogs! Aren’t they amazing? Such gentle giants. Take care, Jess, and I know we’ll all be thinking of you.

I can see all the gorgeous colours of autumn in your outfit, Jess. The kimono is sublime. I don’t normally like to use the world mindfulness but in this time in our lives, we need to practice it to stay mentally healthy

That’s a total stunner piece Jess! It’s lovely and I adore just how much it looks. I am glad to hear you are feeling slightly better. I am keeping my fingers crossed you get a surgery scheduled soon so that the pain goes away. In the meantime, sending positive vibes and big hugs your way!

Beautiful kimono Jess! I love the colours and different textures. It’s really hard to find kimonos here that don’t cost a fortune. I bought one on eBay but it’s sheer, almost like a beach cover up. I will keep looking for one I can wear in the cooler months. I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a little better and hope you can get the surgery soon.

Looking beautiful as always, Jess! I love that kimono. So pretty. I’m sorry the scheduling of the surgery is dragging. So frustrating when you’re not feeling well and just want to get it over with. And yes to doggie pets! My husband’s family had an Irish Wolfhound when he was a little boy. Someone told his parents that bigger dogs were usually better with kids, so they got they biggest dog they could find. Apparently, he was very gentle until he saw a squirrel, and then he was dragging the kids on the leash. LOL!

Jess, you know I am dying over this beautiful velvet kimono! I don’t have enough kimonos for fall and winter! I have a few velvety ones, but you know I need like 2 dozen. Haha. Seriously though, this outfit is stunning. The colors are so gorgeous on you. And how fun that you got to get out a bit and hear live music and pet the pups! I hope you can get in and out of the surgery quickly. Sending positive thoughts, my friend.

You look great in fall colors. Your boots are a great find. They are perfect for fall. Love the sturdy heels. The boots go well with the velvet coat and also with your winter coats. You will get a lot of wear out of them, I bet.

Love it when you wear these colors! They look so amazing on you, I think I’ve sad that many times before, but it’s just gorgeous. I know someone in our village who has such a dog. It’s huge! It’s really good to go out for a while, for your mental health. I’m glad you were able too!
