Turning Heads Linkup – Lemon Print Sundress for Summer

Fruity Fabrications. Citrus Creations. Lemon Love.

It’s still mighty hot here in the South, and I had been on the lookout for a lemon print dress for awhile now.

Lemons and Lemoncello

Traditionally, limoncello is produced in southern Italy along the western coast. As it’s traditionally made from Femminello St. Teresa lemons, which are also known as Sorrento lemons (“limone di Sorrento”), it is mostly associated with the Sorrentine Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast.”  from the website bespokeunit.com

What I do know is my love for lemonade as a child ( making homemade lemonade and having my own entreprenurial Lemonade Stand) turned into as an adult my love for Lemoncello. This is not for the fainthearted though! It is made by softening lemon peels with natural grain alcohol for several weeks. Then it is diluted with water and sugar. ( and its still strong) . You only need a few ounces in a glass with ice, and its a wonderful after dinner drink.

My Outfit

Speaking of lemons, a few years ago I spied an adorable shirt dress in yellow with lemons from Boden, but it sold out in no time. I came across this dress while perusing a few clothing sites, and purchased it on Chicwish. I don’t have much from this company, but the quality is quite good, it is cotton, and cool to wear.

Tiered layered dresses are big and have been big this year. I am not used to the empire waist, but it works well wit this style, and length is given with the shoulder ties. You are able to make it shorter or a little longer depending on your torso.

I love the shoulder ties on sundresses, a sweet touch and detail that does not go unnoticed!

This dress did take 2 weeks to arrive, as Chicwish is out of China, so if you want something sooner, it will take at least 10 days after processing, unless you choose a faster shipping speed.

I love the color of the dress, the vibrant print, as well as the bit of shiring in the back, making it very comfortable.

Now, if we were going to Italy in the Summer next year, I would take this with me!

I have worn lemon print several other times on the blog, as I gravitate toward this fruity fashion.

New glasses! I also bought these Jimmy Choo glasses recently. I had a new prescription and needed progressives.I had needed them for while now, and finally had gotten tired of lifting them on and off to see!  I also made them into sunglasses with Transition lenses. After years of having metal/plastic frames, I wanted an all tortoiseshell square shape. The one shank has gold glitter, so if I forget my necklace, I am covered! 😉 Since I have a petite face, they were a small, with measurements 50-17-130.

Whenever I wear a lemon print, I take out my Ann Taylor lemon earrings!

Are you a sundress wearer and a fan of lemon or fruit prints?

I have never heard of lemoncello nor knew the process of making it, very interesting! This dress is so beautiful and that raw clutch goes nicely with it. It is so hot here and we keep getting some pop up storms (a little relief from the humidity) every afternoon!

I love limoncello too but in moderation.
I remember seeing George Clooney and Danny DeVito drunk on a late night show because they were drinking limoncello!

This dress is so fun, Jess! I love lemon prints, too, but yellow is so difficult for me to wear that I never can find a lemony print for me. I really like the tiered maxi dress style, too. It is so pretty. And your new glasses are gorgeous! I switched to progressives a few years ago and it is seriously a game changer! So much better when you don’t have to take your glasses off to read small print. Although I also recently switched my phone settings to the biggest font possible…perfect for these old eyes of mine! I am due for an eye exam and some new glasses in October! I always look forward to adding new frames to my eyewear wardrobe.
