Turning Heads Linkup – Lemon Top and White Trousers

Hello Ladies!
Bringing you more Lemon goodness on the blog today! If you missed yesterday’s lemony post, pop on by! I needed a bit of sunshine in my life, and this bright lemon patterned top along with lemon stud earrings fit the bill.

Outfit

I received a notice that Ann Taylor was having a 70% off sale, and if you don’t know by now, Ann Taylor, Loft and several other companies are declaring Chpt 11 Bankrupcy and regrouping. In the meantime, the sales were plentiful, with the companies trying to sell of inventory. I didn’t go crazy, but bought a few pieces to add to my summer collection. I purchased this flutter sleeved top, the lemon stud gold earrings and a scarf with gingham and lemon print. ( I will wear that before the end of summer) .

I bought these white trousers from Ann Taylor years ago, and just dug them out of the closet. I like the flat front and cropped length. I also love white and yellow, it is such a fresh bright look and does brighten your mood a bit.

I’ve been wearing these Zara white strappy sandals often and I just love the square toe on them and the barely there style.

Life Lately

I mentioned yesterday that there are days, plenty of them, that I feel like we live in The Twilight Zone. Do de do do.. do de do do..

I feel “News Fatigue” even reading my newsletters some days.

Nothing that much is new other than we increase in daily stats for how many cases we have. I need some positive news here and there. I think the only thing to change will be when we get a vaccine.

In the meantime.. we are playing Phase 10 and Scrabble with mom. She loves games. We go out to Brunch on some Sundays, and did so this weekend, choosing a late time to avoid crowds.

We continue our Saturday exploration of the vineyards and went to Daveste Vineyards this weekend, brought a picnic and listened to some great live music. Two guitars and drums, some 70s music, it took our minds away for a day. It has me looking forward to the weekend.

We are also trying to get estimates to get wood flooring done on the 1st floor and the Master Bath and guest bath on the 2nd floor. Boy, has it been a chore getting contractors to show up! We want 3 estimates and it really is like pulling teeth to find professionals.

Such a pretty outfit. Lemons are so summer. It is so sad to hear how all the businesses that we have loved for decades are struggling. It is pretty much same old here too and hard to feel hopeful some days. But I do continue to feel grateful.
    Peace!

I must be living under a rock because I had no idea that chain filed for bankruptcy! And I love LOFT! Hopefully it’ll be good for them and they’re able to pull through. Also, I loved your mention of the Twilight Zone – your “do de do do” was spot on, as I could hear the music playing in my head! Haha. Also, love this blouse. The yellow is so pretty!

Even though the days fly by, I agree that it feels like Groundhog Day. We are hanging in there and doing the best we can by finding any fun distractions. What a cute and fun top Jess. It’s absolutely perfect for bringing happy to any day and I love how it contrasts against the white denim. So refreshing and cool if I may so. I hope your week is off to a great start and happy Tuesday!

Yes, life lately seems to blend one day into the other. There are no events to look forward to. No dancing on the weekends. Shopping isn’t fun with mask. You loose track of time when working from home with no place to go. On top of it a very rainy summer, meaning one stays inside.

I am glad you take the weekends to get out and about. We had a pergola built a couple weeks ago so this weekend I want to put up some lights on it. Looking forward to fall cooler weather. Trying get all of our ducks in a row for school starting next week. Finding simple things like desks and desks chairs nowadays is a chore: since everyone is buying them they are out of stock all over the place. Did find a desk and it looks great. Love the pretty print on your blouse. I am not looking at fall things but just a few: 2 pairs of jeans are on my list.

Your lemon and white is so lovely and fresh. It is a difficult situation that will be a part of our lives for quite some time I fear. Best of luck with your floors I know from experience how hard it can be to get trades people on time. Many thanks for hosting Jess.

Thank you for the link up!

Love your lemony outfit! So pretty and sunny. Glad you are finding some good sales. I’m waiting on shoe arrivals from Macy’s. They had some great sales over the weekend – 40-60% off.

I’m with you as far as the analysis of the COVID situation – this is the way it will be until we have a vaccine. Your picnic lunches at the various wineries sounds like a lovely way to be out and about. We ate our local Mexican food restaurant on the patio last Thursday.

    Hugs,
