24 Mar Turning Heads Linkup – Military Jacket and Light Denim
Hello friends,
How are you holding up? I thank God for the blog as it helps me to focus and enjoy writing, as well as staying in contact with people. All of this can uplift our spirits. Hubby took these pictures where the Crepe Mrytle trees were blooming and I am styled in a military jacket and light denim for the day.
At Home
How are you all doing? I am used to being at home working on the blog, and my hubby works in IT remotely, but it is the uncertainty that makes me anxious. I am doing my best to keep my cool. My dry needling appt was cancelled this week, and I coun’t on this to bring me some relief from the constant muscle pain. I haven’t missed an appt in 7 years! I do know it was the right decision, so I don’t know when I will get treatment next. I Have some at home devices we can use to help a bit. I have a jack knobber, which is plastic and looks like a giant jack . It is used to dig into the muscle and help relax knots. I also have a cupping kit, and my hubby will help with that. Epsom salt baths have become my saving grace.
I do feel the blog is a necessity for me, keeping me focused on writing and bringing people content that is fun and a distraction. Something we all need. I am also playing my guitar, working out, and watching tv with my best friends, ( GIbby and Truffy) If you need ideas of what to do while you are at home, after working , I wrote about it on my Friday post. 12 Things to do While at Home
Outfit
So, if you are in athleisure or sweats, look at this as an outfit you can wear in the Spring, to look put together and be comfortable at the same time, I have had this tan military jacket for ages, from LOFT, and I love the brass buttons and raw edging. I am wearing a white tee underneath, and my lived in lighter wash denim jeans from LOFT. They are an old pair too, but one my favorites as they are 99% cotton and 1% spandex, so comfy. If you are looking for a military jacket this jacket from Tommy Hilfiger is simiilar.
I need a few new scarves for Spring, and love this mustard and lilac one from Mango. I wear this one often and paired it with my rattan earrings and leopard pumps. The RM braided bag adds to the neutral look.
There are many sales out there right now as businesses are losing money, but I wonder how you feel about ordering packages? I have a few I ordered, and will sanitize them and wear gloves when opening.

Posted at 19:52h, 26 MarchI’m so, sorry you are cut off from a therapy that helps with the pain. That has to be tough! Baths are often my go to for dealing with pain as well.
Lovely outfit, and such a pretty setting for the photos! The crepe myrtle tree is gorgeous!

Posted at 11:38h, 26 MarchI love your military jacket and leopard print pumps! And the bag tassel is a fabulous detail. I’m sorry to hear that you can’t get your treatment, I hope you’re not suffering as a result. I am still placing orders online but being careful to wash my hands after handling them and wiping things down with disinfectant wipes. A few weeks ago we could never have imagined ourselves having to do this! Stay safe and take care!

Posted at 11:59h, 25 MarchWhat a cute outfit, Jess. I’m so glad you are also a scarf wearer! IMO they are under appreciated-ha! Take care, I’m so sorry to hear about your appointments having to be missed. I wondered about packages myself. They say to leave plastic ones outdoors for 3 days and boxes out 1. If you’re handling it in the first place, why not thoroughly wash and put the trash immediately outside? IDK. I’m thinking about ordering a couple of things, and probably will. Unfortunately, I missed a 20% off Sundance one recently, darn!

Posted at 07:13h, 25 MarchI’m so thankful for this space. However, I’m struggling to focus and didn’t publish two posts! Argh. I don’t know if it’s the extra bodies at home or the distraction of news, etc or the combination of it all. Anyway, I’m still here!! And I enjoy seeing everyone’s outfits. You busted out another cute one. The shoes are fabulous with those jeans and I love a good military jacket.

Posted at 00:33h, 25 MarchWe’re on week 2 of shelter in place, and I’m still struggling with work/life boundaries, not to mention I miss wearing normal clothes (e.g. not jeans and sweaters every day) and seeing people other than my bf! Hoping things get easier, because I know we will be doing this for awhile, all for the greater good!

Posted at 19:59h, 24 MarchHi, Jess. Although I work from home quite a bit, it does get confining when your realize you really can’t go anywhere on a whim! Your outfit is perfect for transitioning to spring, and you are right that most of us are busily shopping our closets at present! Stay well.

Posted at 19:27h, 24 MarchYes, blogging has been a great distraction and something to do while indoors so much!! I am thankful for that. That jacket is just lovely and those Crepe Mrytle trees are, too! I don’t believe we have those in St. Louis.

Posted at 16:21h, 24 MarchHad to look up “dry needling” – seems similar to acupuncture? I’ve heard it can do wonders – but the idea terrifies me. Hopefully some of your at-home remedies will help you in this weird time until you are able to go back for an appointment. Though working from home is a norm for you, who says you can take more epsom salt baths and read a good book? 😉
Best wishes

Posted at 15:47h, 24 MarchBlogging is definitely a nice distraction during an uncertain time like this. Like you, staying at home is not a big change for our family but it is the unknown that is hard. That said, you styled this military jacket beautifully. My favorite item that you added to your look is the scarf. Not only does it complement your entire outfit but its a gorgeous statement piece. I hope you are staying safe and well and happy Tuesday!

I’m so sorry that you are unable to get your treatments, hopefully what you have it home will see you through. The blog definitely helps me to keep my sanity. I go back and forth between feeling okay while trying to look at the little bits of good coming from all of this, but then I have moments when I get overwhelmed…We will all get through it together though…xo

Posted at 08:28h, 24 MarchJess, this is such a cute casual spring outfit! I am glad that you have some things at home to help with your pain management. Are there other homeopathic remedies that could give you some relief like acupressure or essential oils? I love that you are using your blog to stay happily distracted and to give us a nice fun distraction as well. I am just plugging along myself doing my normal at home thing! Stay safe and healthy, my friend.

Posted at 05:38h, 24 MarchSuch a shame you can’t get the therapy that you need Jess. I feel the same about blogging too. I don’t know what I would do without my online world! I’m on day 8 of isolation and it’s tough. I’m hoping to get out somewhere remote to take some photos somewhere! xx
