Turning Heads #Linkup-What to Wear to Summer Brunch-Pink Floral Vintage Inspired Karina Dress

Hello ladies

Who doesn’t love to sleep in on some lazy Sundays? Whether its with the girlfriends or your significant other, going to brunch, for me, is always a fun way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon! Mmmm. Visions of strawberry pancakes and mimosas dancing in my head. My husband and I love to try different places here in Charlotte and one of those for brunch is Bonefish Grill. I most often get a peach belinni with my eggs benedict or  a spot o” tea with my strawberry pancakes. So today,  I took out my hot rollers as the heat generally makes my fine hair just fall, but keep them in for 15 minutes and it curls like a charm.. Off to brunch!

Lately it has been the Dog Days of Summer. The sweltering heat that  makes one “glow” the moment one steps outside. I have enjoyed trying new styles this summer, added some maxi dresses to the wardrobe, love the neutrals and rust, gold, khaki and olive shades. Today however, I wanted to wear some color! This Karina dress is one of my favorites. I love the Pepto Pink color surrounded by flowers of baby blue and cornflower blue. The bit of bright green leaves that brighten the dress as well. I took one of dresses on vacation, as they do not wrinkle, and are very easy to pack.  I thought it just the right floral to wear for our afternoon of indulgence.

I also wore my new Halogen lace up flats in Blush. I have been coveting these for awhile, but showed patience for the Nordstrom sale, then bought them in blush and black. They are the perfect shoes to wear for the afternoon brunch, as I know what I want to do afterward: take a walk! Usually the brunch is nearly enough to tide me over for the day; I may have a yogurt or another healthy snack later. To me, it always feels better to get up and take a walk after eating a large meal. So, put on that pretty dress and enjoy a lazy Sunday soon!

Jess you always manage to look cool as a cucumber no matter what the temperature! The dress is adorable and has inspired me to bring out a floral number which also has a vintage vibe – I’ll feature that next week. And I think those blush shoes are gorgeous, but might be too narrow for my broad feet. You clearly have long, slender limbs and even feet which suit these ghillie shoes perfectly. Thanks for the linkup party and have a lovely week x

Mmmm, I love brunch! Wish that was more of a ‘thing’ here in Italy. Italians usually only eat a pastry for breakfast! I agree with you about wanting to get up and move after a large meal. Always time for a good walk, right? Love that dress on you and your hair looks so good!

Jess that is such a classic 1950s style floral – my favourite type! The colours are stunning and I’m all over lace-up flats myself right now.

I’m with you on the lazy Sundays… Though I can’t remember the last time I had one (with the exception of my weekend away a week ago), I always have to work!! Such is being self employed, just gotta suck it up for my freedom I guess!

Thanks for hosting lovely lady 🙂

    Wow Jess!
That dress really packs a colour punch…and looks great against your holiday tan.

I can’t decide whether I am envious or not of your “sweltering” heat?
I like the idea of it but maybe the reality is a little too much to bear?? I would have a red face, for sure!!
Long hair can be like a scarf on a hot day. I remember it well!

    As for those shoes…..LOVE!
(And you bought them in black too… a girl after my own heart :oP)
