Turning Heads Linkup- Retro- style Jean Skirt with Anthropologie Top

Happy Turning Heads Tuesday!

Well, it seems I took Labor Day quite literally and had a day of cleaning the house. It’s ok, just had to be done!

Its one of those staples that I love to wear. It took me over a year  to find a jean skirt I loved. I’m picky! I also wanted one to the knee and loved this sort of retro button down the front style. Because it is too hot right now for jeans, I chose the next best thing.,

My Outfit

Jean skirts are a great year round piece that goes with everything, just like your trusty denim. I look forward to pairing this with a moto jacket and booties.. or a long cardigan!

If you are looking for more summer denim, check out yesterday’s post and how I amplify a denim short and white tank look.

I love the buttons down the front,  kind of retro vibe. This LOFT skirt is very soft and so comfy to wear.

This top is one many Poshmark deals from Anthropologie. I love the caged style as the shoulder and the blue/green pattern. When I shop on Poshmark, I tend to make it easier by searching specific items with brands I love.  i love the uniqueness and style of Anthropologie, so I will use my filters for size ( XS/ S) and search “tops”. This way, I am not seeing too much, and I can browse through the tops in my size from this Brand. It really is so fun finding the deals and my money goes far when i shop these thrifting sites.

I am wearing my Jambu Rio sandals in taupe and love the cushioned footbed with memory foam. I love it when i am out and about and ladies ask me about my Jambu shoes!  Keep an eye out for the Fall months when I will be showing you some new Fall styles!

This area of Charlotte, is North Charlotte, Cornelius. Only a short drive to one of our favorite hangouts, Cork and Cask. One of the owners is from The Burg, it really is funny how many people we run into that are from or were from Pittsburgh! Another pup friendly place, we scoped out this pretty fountain with surrounding pink flowers. We often do photo shoots, go to lunch, and take the puppies for a walk ( with a change of clothes) as we have many Greenways in our area to enjoy. With the brown leaves at my feet, I am hoping this is a sign of things soon to come!

I find this time of year a bit challenging for fashion blogging, as you want to show transitional or Fall looks, but it is still 90 degrees in NC!

How do other Southern girls deal with this?

One of my favorite pairs of Jambu shoes. The memory foam footbed can’t be beat! More on Jambu in the Fall! 🙂

And I just scored this Anthropologie Pilco Denim Jacket from Poshmark for $60 that I look forward to wearing or would wear with this look as it gets chillier outside. It’ll be coming soon.. 🙂

Loving this skirt Jess! A denim skirt is so tricky. I need to add a new denim jacket to my closet and just haven’t found “the one” yet. And yes…it’s SO stinkin’ hot right now and really hard to try and feel the fall looks when it’s 90 degrees with 100% humidity!

That jean jacket is sweet! I find so many really great jean jackets when I thrift. I don’t often buy them for my Etsy store though as they aren’t old enough so now I have quite the personal collection. I have plans to alter them and then sell them on Etsy. Plans…ha ha! Whenever I alter them I fall in love with them and then can no longer part with them.

I also love denim skirts. They go with everything as you’ve show so well here.

We are still in the middle of an extreme heat warning here. I’m not complaining though. I’ll take the heat over snow any day.

Denim skirts are so handy to have in your closet – this does have a retro vibe, it reminds me of one had wore back in the 80’s. The blue top is so pretty on you Jess. Lovely shots too. Many thanks for hosting.

Such a cute outfit – I like the print with the denim skirt! I’d love a skirt like this but I’m waiting until the boys are a little bigger – maxis are my go-to at the moment, haha! 🙂

I don’t like it if my outfit is too warm or too cold for the temperature so I couldn’t layer up if it was summer temps! 🙂 Even just for blog photos, I’d melt in the heat! Hope you get some cooler weather soon.

Thank you for the link up!

I hope that you are having a nice start to your week so far! It’s a little colder here after a warm weekend but the rain is welcome 🙂

Poshmark is such a great place to find nice deals! Love the jean jacket that you recently found. Your jean skirt is equally beautiful and I am obsessed with the button down detail! I don’t follow a lot of seasonal or trends for my blog but it also isn’t like I post a lot either but I just post what makes sense at the time. Though I do have a couple of photos building up now from summer that I haven’t even touched! Sorry I didn’t really help there just mumbling! I’ll stop here and say happy Tuesday!

I love the mix of blues and greens and that’s the perfect denim skirt. I know some southern bloggers just sweat it out and shoot those “fall” looks that they aren’t wearing in real life, but this southern girl keeps it real and posts what I really wear. Fall transitions are about color for me.

So pretty Jess! I love that denim skirt and the colors of your top are so pretty and perfect earrings too! The setting for your photos couldn’t be any prettier, love the fountain and the flowers! Our Labor Day was very rainy so we spent the day inside but the boys were home so we enjoyed them for sure.
Can’t wait to see that denim jacket – great find!

Love every single element of this outfit, Jess. This is the time of year when denim skirts come into their own and your long wait has paid off, you’ve chosen a beauty, so versatile.
We have a mix of weather and at this time of year, though it’s still not inspiring me to think autumn on the cloudy days. Hugs, x.
