Turning Heads Linkup- Slip Dress as Skirt with Mustard Sweater

I have been looking forward to wearing this leopard slip dress in this manner to awhile now. I wore it over the Spring/Summer as is, and today styled it with a mustard knit sweater for Fall

I finally was able to go out this week and enjoy lunch out with my hubby. We visited Bascillico ( think Italian, think Rome) this is how we have to remember things these days! By association! The restaurant is a family run Italian place, with Mama Italiano, whom we met, and hugged ( before Covid). The Eggplant Parmesean is my favorite and he had the Lasagna that is only made Sunday by Mama!

I loved sitting outside enjoying Chiante and Cabernet, along with listening to some of my favorite songs by Louis Prima.

My outfit

It feels good to be out and about a bit, even if it means just going to a nearby park for photos. I have seen similar looks and really value the versatility of a slip dress. I bought this dress over the summer, and wore it HERE, during those hot months. Of course, I loved the leopard print, but thought about all of the ways I could style this leopard silky slip dress.

  1. wear it in the summer as is, with a pair of sandals.
  2. Add a tee under it in the warmer months.
  3. add a blazer over it or a denim jacket with sneakers
  4. Add a white button down and stockings for a more dressed up look.
  5. For the colder months, wear a chunky knit over top of the slip dress, acting as a skirt, as in this post!

I received this mustard knit sweater with bow at the neck from my MIL last Christmas, of course I love this color and wore it in a monochromatic fashion HERE. I could pair any color I would like with this slip dress as it is a neutral. So go wild! Pair you favorite shade with it for a winning look. I added Tall OTK boots for a long lean look as well.

That mustard sweater is absolutely gorgeous and pairs so perfectly well with your leopard dress. It’s such a classic outfit for fall and one I can’t get enough of! I am glad we are able to get out and about too. I think we all need the fresh air especially since we are stranded at home with remote learning. By Friday, we are craving some fresh air and freedom!

I absolutely love mustard and that beautiful mustard sweater looks perfect over your slip dress! I wore this style in a post last year–these dresses are so darn versatile, aren’t they? And thanks so much for featuring my photo today!! I really appreciate the shout out, even though I won’t be wearing that look for some time and certainly not a large wedding!! Lol!

Happy Tuesday, Jess. Glad you’re feeling better and better!

That sweater is so gorgeous, I love the tie accent on it. So pretty with the animal print neutral slip dress styled as a skirt, so clever! Ahh, we had a bottle of Chianti on our anniversary trip away this weekend. I miss Italy and European travel. I am glad you got to enjoy a nice Italian dinner and you’re getting out more!

Great way to wear that slip dress all in cooler months, it’s such a versatile piece. You look fabulous! I love Italian – haven’t been out for it in ages. We have a family run place we love to go to as well but haven’t been since my dad passed. Might be time to get up the courage and go – it reminds me of him so much!

A lovely outfit! I really like the mustard sweater with the leopard! I’m so glad you’re feeling well enough to be out and about. We have an Italian restaurant near us (and Mexican and French) and have been enjoying the patio dining at all of them since our weather cooled down enough.
