21 Dec Turning Heads Linkup- Slipdress with a Pullover Sweater for Christmas

The 90’s is back with the minimalist slip dress. I am sharing one modern way to style this for the Holidays this year.

My outfit

You saw me style my leopard slip dress in THIS POST with a chunky knit. Today, I have combined this pretty brown taupe off the shoulder (or on) with this inexpensive slip dress from Target. The slip dress is very versatile, and I mentioned other ways of wearing it in the previous post. Granted, this dress is not silk, but a polyester with some stretch, and can be put in the washer. I am wearing an XS in this dress, and wear a 4,XS for reference, so I say it is true to size, or what you typically wear.

I kept it neutral here today with brown and black tones and added some sparkle with my vintage brooch and earrings. I chose the warm taupe color for the sweater, as when I am wearing black, I like to add a warmer color near my face. H&M has it in a camel color.

The croc leather clutch and textured tights adds more interest to the look. Try combining textures and fabrics in the Winter for a more interesting outfit.

You could keep this look modern and go for a fun look by changing out the footwear. Chunky or lug sole boots are sizzlin’ hot right now, and this would be a way to make this look stylish and more casual. (Change out the fancy earrings for some gold hoops or studs).

I am a blazer gal, so I could style this midi slip dress with an oversized blazer, and some slip on mules as another example. The mix of masculine and feminine is one of my favorites.

Wearing a slip dress doesn’t need to feel like you are wearing your undergarments on the outside. There are many opportunities for layering and when worn the way I am showing here, the dress acts as a silky skirt with a beautiful knit.

Christmas Happenings

Last linkup of the year. wow. Turning Heads Tuesday will be back in 2022! Thanks for being here!

Well, in two days we will be driving again to Harleysville, near Philly. Off to my in-law’s house with the pups in tow. I bought them new Christmas sweaters and my hubby, and I are also going with buffalo plaid for pjs, so I hope to do a family photo shoot. Our development had a Christmas Event this past weekend, so we will have Gibby and Truffle’s pictures with Santapaws sent to us. 🙂 I make my rounds in the neighborhood and put cards in mailboxes and have sent out some as well. I could spend all day looking at cards, my mom is the same! She will spend an afternoon in Hallmark.

Since we are traveling, and I need some time to recuperate after Christmas, the blog will be up after the New Year. I really need a double dose of dry needling for my EDS, but rest and then a session, will set me on the right path.
