I’m talking about comfortable, airy and cool bedding from Soft Surroundings today. Friday I will talk about what you need to make tranquil surroundings in order to get a good nights sleep, but I want to share with you their bedding today. Who doesn’t need a change from season to season with their bedding or bedroom linens?

Birthday and Blogger Meet Up

We are celebrating in the Outer Banks soon, but receiving this bedding was like an early birthday present!

This is a slightly different post for me, as usually I talk about fashion and making yourself look good, today I am talking about bedding and making your bedroom look and feel good.! Besides, we’re not in college anymore! ( I actually remember getting a couch from my neighbor at college for the price of a six pack! hehe)

Soft Surroundings

I do cherish my sleep these days and having a cool, comfortable bed to sleep in. This is one thing that can certainly help me get to sleep. I’ll talk about the importance of a tranquil space for your bedroom on Friday:-)

Jess can be a crabby lady if she doesn’t get enough sleep! If my bedroom is comfortable and looks beautiful, I look forward to heading to bed!

You all know I am a fan of larger print florals and I when I saw this gorgeous, watercolor pattern, I was swept away! I loved the soft pastels of pink, blues, yellow, greens. The poppies were a different print as we normally get solid sheets for our bed set, so It was a wonderful change!

Like I am laying in a field of flowers! Poppies and roses are just some of my favorite flowers.

I needed something light and that was also cool for sleeping. Soft Surroundings makes gorgeous sheets, comforters, coverlets, bed skirts and more for sprucing up your room.

I like to change my bedding based upon seasons, so I have one bed set I will use for Spring and Summer ( this one here) and one for Fall and Winter.

Go for a print or color that adds to the mood of your bedroom.

I have steel blue curtains and the soft shades of the florals added an elegant touch to our room I am going to change them out too though and would love to add these Camille Drapery Panels in white, or these Lavishly Full Sheer Panels. Both would give an elegant look.

Soft colors, whites and florals are trending now in bedding for this season and Soft Surroundings has much to choose from. This set, The Watercolor Garden sheet set with corals, greens, pink and chartreuse is another pretty floral set. Make this the focus of your bedroom with white linens and curtains.

The photography process was interesting, as we don’t take many indoor shots. Hubby took a lot of photos and if we were to do more indoors we would add some additional lighting.

The Bedroom Pieces from Soft Surroundings

I was so excited when I chose our bedroom linens, coverlet and bed skirt. I had a pin tucked teal comforter on the bed but it was getting a bit worn ( maybe because the doggies are on it ;-))

I knew it was time for a change. When I spoke to my rep at Soft Surroundings, I chose these pieces to create a serene bedroom for the Spring and Summer months.

This Balloon Bedskirt is so chic and elegant and I chose the Antique Blue to go with the blue/brown color scheme in our bedroom.  I love how it “balloons” out at the bottom and adds such style. It also comes in 5 other colors and adds such an elegant look to the bed. I love the sage and taupe as well with this set.

Field of Poppies Sheet Set is so stunning! I love the pink poppies, with wheat stalks and wildflowers is even more beautiful in person. I couldn’t stop looking at it when I got the package! One of the things I look for in sheets is are they soft and comfortable, and do they keep me cool? Yes, Yes and Yes! You know a gal at midlife needs cool sheets, and of course, you want to keep cool in the summertime too.

I love that they are large enough to fit over the bed. I have bought fitted sheets for King beds before that were a stretch to fit. These fit beautifully, are made substantially and are vibrant. I wasn’t able to go to Italy this year, but I’ll take Italian sheets!

Besides the beautiful bedding, the photographs above the bed were all taken by my dad. I miss him, but we do have these stunning pictures as a reminder.

The Lombardi Smocked Coverlet, part of the Lombardi bed collection, also caught my eye. I love the pintucked look and the white would brighten up our bedroom as well. I love the softness and style and the weight is perfect for Spring and Summer. I just love a white comforter for a fresh look.

I also took some photos of a steel blue quilt I have had for a few years that we bought from Target. I would interchange it with the coverlet and was more than happy that it went well with the set.
