Morning! By now, you know I am a fan of Soft Surroundings. I love the fact that I can order the same size consistently and it fits. Today my outfit is all about pattern and texture for Fall. I am also sharing this as a dress I can wear mostly year-round as well.
When I saw this chiffon dress on Soft Surroundings the double animal print caught my eye! Why wear one when you can wear two or more together! The ombre coloring is very modern as well, and the top portion of the bodice is a leopard print, with the snakeskin print in a lighter brown in between. What really makes the dress, is the snakeskin slip under the light, flowy midi, as you can see a peek of lace at the tp with a few buttons left open, and the lace with a button open at the bottom of the dress. It is those details that really catch my eye. Since it is a sheerer dress, you want this slip for practicality, so why not a more fashionable one? I am wearing an XS in this style, as I do with all of Soft Surroundings.
If they made the slip more solid, I would have worn it underneath a thicker, knit sweater, but it is seethrough as well. So, if you want to continue to wear this dress in the Fall, I added a moto jacket in a suede chestnut color. Again, it is one of those dresses, Like Last week’s Mango dress post) I can wear alone in the Spring and Summer, and by adding layers to it, I can extend it to Fall. How?
- Add a rich moto jacket in a Fall shade. 2. Add the 3rd layer of color with a long cardigan 3. Wear a cozy thick knit sweater over top, acting like a top and long skirt. I love this one!
To continue, I added another rich color – a deep burgundy with my Zara croc booties. One thing I love about Fall is the fact you can mix textures and patterns to create an eye-catching outfit. Textures here are the leather Rebecca Minkoff cognac bag, the croc booties, the lace in the slip, and patterns are the leopard and snakeskin.
Lately, I have been wearing some longer dresses and loving it with boots or booties. See last week’s post- Green Long Dress and Croc booties. I love the versatility and the ability to wear them for multiple seasons.
