16 Feb Turning Heads Linkup- Styling Grey Jeans

Let me say it has been cooooold and very rainy here in Charlotte, NC. It has rained so much we have a pond behind our house! 7 straight days of rain is no fun! What is fun is getting my pink Boden coat out for a photoshoot with my grey jeans styled is one of my favorite color combinations.

Styling Grey Jeans

One of my favorite “cool toned” outfits is paring my grey jeans with pink, as I do here with my Boden pink vintage inspired coat. The plum sweater is old from Loft, and adds a bit of a warmer tone near my face, as it has brown undertones. These grey jeans are the Rockstar mid-rise jeans from Old Navy, one of my tried and true favorites. They don’t have this exact pair, but these high -rise jeans are a close second!

There are ways to style grey jeans, but because they are a neutral, you can wear them with any color.

I love the combo of grey and other neutrals for a sophisticated look. Try pairing taupe, cream, and of course black with grey.

Monochromatic looks are always chic and stylish. You can see how my leg line is longer with the same color bootie, extending from the skinny jean. Wearing all grey and adding a pop of color is quite eye catching. 

“Ultimate Grey” is Pantone’s Color of the year ,along with “Illuminating yellow”, a bright yellow. For Spring, why not try mixing the two, or transition in between seasons with a yellow sweater and grey jeans. Add some fashion sneakers to make it a fun, casual look. With Spring approaching, another transitional look is to pair grey with pastels. There are some gorgeous mints, yellows and pale pinks that would look quite fresh with grey jeans.

If you are a leopard fan, the “Snow leopard ” print is a great one to pair with grey. You could certainly pair the warmer tan/leopard print as well, if you have more or want more warmer tones near your face.

Valentine Fun

I mentioned yesterday, , mom and i  did a wine tasting, chocolate pairing for Vday. We bought chocolate truffles in an assortment and then I chose 3 wines we have not tried. Going by the descriptions only, I picked a Tempranillo, a Cab Sauv, and a Cabernet Franc. The winner of the night was the Cab Franc, Arraigo Benegas Estate, 2018. It was so smooth and delicious and paired well with the chocolaty goodness! I am a big believer in giving cards too, so I enjoyed giving those.

Hubby bought these precious earrings from a shop in Asheville, NC for my Birthday a few years ago.

Lovin my long grey gloves I picked up in Asheville on year. The button detail caught my eye.
