24 Sep Turning Heads Linkup- Target Chestnut Jersey Dress as a Layer for Fall

It’s a Target fashion week as I share just a few pieces I bought that are great layering pieces for Fall.

Weekend

I wrote about our busy weekend seeing a play and going to Woofstock, all such wonderful events. Last night we went to see Downton Abbey. I love our theatre, with cushy seats, great drinks, and food. Hubby and I had a Margharita pizza, he a glass of beer, and me, one of my favorite reds- 19 Crimes. I just love Downton Abbey and miss it being on! Carson and Grandmama ( Maggie Smith) are two of my favorite characters.  Its also no surprise that I salivate just looking at the fashions they all wear. Edith wore this luscious burnt orange velvet dress in an earlier scene. If you were to play a part, who would it be?

Target Fashion

Does anyone just go into Target for one thing? Or do you have a list and then deviate from it when you spot the women’s clothing section? Hubby and I have a system. He starts the grocery shopping, I go to the women’s fashion section, and then I meet him in an aisle when he is shopping. Doesn’t sound fair to him, does it? Well, this way, it avoids him waiting for me while I shop or try things on. We will text and I’ll ask where are you? It makes me laugh as before cell phones, my hubby bought us walkie-talkies ( to keep in touch while we rode bikes or hiked ) I can picture it now. Me in the dressing room at Target- “Breaker, Breaker Roy. I am in the women’s dressing room. Be out in 10.” Haha!

I was looking at the New Day line and the Prologue line, and picked this dress up, along with the dress from yesterday’s post. It comes in this brown tone as well as black. I loved the warm brown tone and as it is a lighter layer, thought it would be wonderful, like yesterday’s dress, to layer. I have kept it just “as is” for this post, but you will see me style it with various layers as the weather gets colder. I can style it with moto jackets and long dusters and have it pictured already!

This snakeskin Mango silk scarf has been a favorite of mine. I do love a neck scarf over a necklace at times for more pattern to a look. 

I am wearing vintage earrings I bought on Etsy in a gold an amber stone. The bronze bracelet c/o Soft Surroundings is a nice added touch without adding too much to the look.

My leopard heels, ( only 2 inches) are from Rockport, and they have Adidas cushioning making them very comfortable and adding another animal print to the style.

I’ve got great buys buying from Target, and also scored a couple of items on Poshmark I’ll share here soon. I sold a few items and bought a few.:-)
