I’ve always loved plaid. Plaid is one of those prints that seems to speak to me for the Fall season. So what could be better than a comfortable fit, brown plaid dress for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday?
I’ve always enjoyed wearing dresses for the Holidays. Especially the holidays where there is a lot of good food! We all want to be comfortable right? I love the mix of brown and black ( see this POST) and the drop waist. I added the cognac suede moto and it cuts right at about hip level. You could certainly wear a variety of knitwear over this dress as well. I would love to add a knit vest to this dress as it would add a bit of additional shape and structure. A long cardigan in either a color or neutral would look fabulous. I have stuck with neutrals here with my favorite Brahmin bag in pecan, my Franco Sarto OTK boots and the Blank NYC moto. What I love about Fall dressing is the rich fabrics and textures you can incorporate into an outfit. The snakeskin scarf adds another pattern. You could certainly add a “punch of color” with accessories here if you chose to do so.
I have curated some similar pieces for you under “Shop this Post.” These pieces are all a few years old, but you could put together a similar look. LOFT has a drop waist plaid dress that is on sale right now!
Today I am doing a multitude of things before we head to Pittsburgh Wednesday to visit the family at moms for Thanksgiving. I will be running around like a “Turkey with my head cut off”! ( I couldn’t resist!)
Dentist appointment, eyebrows threaded, nails done at salon, and my friend/stylist will come to do our hair. Busy, busy! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and I know mom is happy we are all coming. Did I mention there will be 4 dogs? 2 shih tzus ( mine) an Australian Cattle dog ( brother) and a Frenchie( brother). I love it.
