05 Mar Turning Heads Linkup – Tweed and Suede
Its been one heck of a couple of weeks. It has rained here in Charlotte, for 9 days in a row. Our puddles have puddles. In the front yard, it looks as if we have a pond, and I can hear the frogs croaking at night. You get it!? So, among all of the rain and flooding, it makes it difficult to take blog photos. We made it happen one morning when the rain ceased for a bit.
I said to my husband, I heard there was a phenomenon that causes heat and is emitted from the sky. Have you heard of it?? I just can’t help but be sarcastic sometimes, as it has been a while since we have seen the sun here in Huntersville. Or at least it feels that way! The calendar may say March, so there may be hope!
Spring Outfits on the Horizon
I am looking forward to revamping my Spring wardrobe, as even with living in NC, I have more of a Fall-Winter wardrobe, that I have built over the years. The colors from this year’s Pantone Color Institute has me scanning my favorite websites for the upcoming season.
Soon, as the weather warms up a bit, I will be sharing some transitional Spring outfits, because we all want that to look forward to! In the meantime, yesterday’s post where 7 of us bloggers wore green, was more of a transitional Spring look, if that is what you’re craving.
My Outfit Today
Today, however, we are still in Winter Mode, and I haven’t styled this tweed aline skirt from Ann Taylor in some time, so I knew I wanted to combine tweed and suede in a look this week. From my moto jacket collection, this BLANKNYC rich burgundy jacket has been a great staple in my Fall-Winter wardrobe. If I were to think of one item to add, a moto jacket is one of those staples.
Making another appearance are my OTK boots from Franco Sarto. ( These were on sale on 6 pm). I added a bold burgundy statement necklace and earrings that were gifted to me years ago from Sylca Design. My favorite textured black clutch finished the look.
On The Weekend
We took the doggies the one nice day we had here recently and went to a Marty Gras Festival at Raylen Vineyards. Had a great time eating gumbo, king cake and drinking their newest Bourbon barreled red wine. The pups were so very good and we enjoyed visiting nearly all of the pups that came that day. Little Charlie, a tiny, rescued chihuahua, had a special fondness for Gibby! 🙂
I began my ifit workout on my new treadmill. Its fun that I can experience other parts of the world, with different trainers, while keeping track of my fitness goals.
