Turning Heads #linkup- Two Ways to Wear Bermuda Shorts

IMG_8384

Hi Ladies,

Glad to have  you here  and to ask, Do you wear Bermuda Shorts?  I received these in pink from Fabrizio Gianni and love the stretch and quality. I am going to share with you two ways to wear you bermuda shorts, and some tips to wearing them.

Now,  if you like to dress a bit more dressy, but am not sure how to wear bermuda shorts in a dressy way, think of them almost as a flat front pant, or a skirt as they end where many women like the length of their skirts. I had fun creating this more Dressy Look to these Fabrizio Gianni bermuda’s that could take you out to the office or to meet with friends for drinks .

Ways to Dress up Your Bermuda Shorts:

  • Wear a heel or a pointed  flat to elongate the leg. ( Here I am wearing a 1.5 inch strappy heel)
  • Add a dressy blouse or top that flatters you waist or area you want to accentuate.
  • Add a blazer, if you feel you want to explore color blocking, try a color that works well with the solid color of your bermuda short . i.e. sea green bermuda short with a pale yellow Blazer.
  • If you like a classic look, here I am wearing a dotted white secretary blouse, and a fitted white jacket. A striped jacket would add pizzazz and pull together the look as well.
  • Think of accessories  tassel necklaces like this one would love lovely too!

My details: Loft dotted white secretary blouse ( older  similar, H&M fitted white blazer,)

Fabrizio Gianni pink bermuda shorts c/o ,

Zara heels ( poshmark)

GIGI New York- Blush clutch ( out of stock but another color)

Earrings Lipp Boutique

These shorts were also sent as part of the Shop and Dash Program. If you didnt see this post on Fabrizio Gianni’s Shop and Dash Program, read about it HERE.

This  next look is a more casual look with a floral cardigan, and fun white wedges, a pair of red wooden earrings I bought in Asheville, with a feminine shape that went perfectly with this cardigan. I am in Asheville, a casual town, so I would be inclined to wear this look here.

To Create a Casual Look

Wear a statement Tee ( yes you can over 40) with the shorts.

Try a trend like a gingham top in a bright color

Try a  white tee and add a patterned scarf for a casual but still  “put together” look.

A Wrap top that accents your waist area, with the flat front of the bermuda short would be flattering

Add a wedge, sandal or espradrille with a small heel or wedge in order for the legs to look longer.

I always love white. It’s a color that defines my personality. And I’m happy to see you add glamour to it. That white fitted blazer of yours is very dear to me! It looks perfectly smart with those bermuda shorts.

So pretty.? I joined the link up but could not add any more than one link. Oh well! Hope you are enjoying our last days of summer! ?

I think one needs long legs to look good wearing bermuda shorts.

    • Roy
Posted at 13:25h, 18 August Reply

If one is shorter, I have tips on wearing the shorts. In order to give the appearance of longer legs, a wedge or a small heeled sandals would also elongate the leg. But of course it is what one is comfortable wearing that matters!

I’m with Alice, I tend to avoid Bermuda shorts. I always feel slightly dumpy in them! But funnily enough I’ve also this week done a post on shorts but a shorter length and more floaty which does suit me! Love the first look. Very elegant and sleek. The blouse is gorgeous and has just enough detail in the pattern to give some texture to the loom. The jacket with the blush bag just finishes it all off perfectly.

Posted at 11:42h, 18 August Reply

Thank you !I understand, I wear shorter shorts most of the time, this was a chance to try something different. I think of them as flat front pants, only shorter, and I am 5 foot9 but even if one is shorter you could try a wedge or espradrille to elogate the leg. I say wear what makes you comfy! Thank you for your lovely compliments xx
