Turning Heads Linkup-What is Your Pandemic Uniform?

Fashion uniform for winter

What is your Pandemic fashion these days? One of my favorite combinations to wear is a moto jacket with a floral dress. Add the combat boots and it give you a bit of an edge or something unexpected. But if you want to see what I might wear more daily during the pandemic, I have included that as well.

Fashion uniform for winter

Outfit

I’ve styled this “uniform” before on the blog, in this post-Masculine/Feminine look for Fall- Floral Dress with Combats

I have always loved the look and the trendy chunky boot has been very popular this past year There is a fair selection of combat boots too, with some on sale.

I love the dark shades of olive, burgundy and orange tones in this black sheer maxi dress c/o Soft Surroundings.

Fashion and the Pandemic

We all have a “uniform” that we are drawn to, you know, the jeans-sweater-and boots combo… Now, with Covid, we also are looking towards our loungewear-sneaker combo these days.

But to break out of that mold, now and again, this is one style I enjoy wearing.

Are you growing old of your loungewear, your matching sweat sets, your PJs extraordinaire?

I seem to fluctuate during this pandemic, a desire for normalcy ( not the NEW normal) and a desire to “feel like myself”, somedays, while other days leave me feeling like, “Why bother? Who’s going to see me? My puppies don’t care…”

At times, I feel the one thing I can control is my wardrobe, and how I feel. At the beginning of the pandemic, my robes probably wore themselves out, and makeup was a 4 letter word. I vowed through the first 3 months to, “let my skin B-R-E-A-T-H-E..”

Well, recently I bought 3 new MAC lipsticks for a pick me up! Was that silly? Who wears lipstick these days? Well, I guess I do. Around the house. It makes me feel a smidge better.

My mom got her first vaccine recently, so we wait a bit for the second. I have been doin a sketching/drawing course and have been enjoying learning how to draw dogs. I have posted on IG stories some of my drawings if you are interested. I have also been working out in the morning with my home treadmill, and lifting weights. I bought a new 20, 25 lb kettlebell and feel quite good after working out, looking to build endurance and strength.

So, although this may not be my daily “pandemic” uniform, it is a fashion “uniform” I am greatly fond of .

I have included more of my “pandemic uniform” below and something I am more inclined to wear day to day.

Lately, the pandemic uniform….

I need to get dressed up more. It is so cold here at the moment that I just tend to get dressed in leggings and big sloppy jumper. Then I can put on a puffer coat and head out for a few walks during the day….

Beautiful dress, I love the dark floral print. The burgundy jacket and bag look fabulous with it. Your pandemic uniform is super stylish too! There’s been very little in between for me lately – I’m either working from home in PJs or putting on my nice clothes to go to the office. I’ve just bought some nice stretchy houndstooth trousers though to wear at home – I think making the effort will make me feel better because I’m starting to stagnate now! Thanks for linking up!

I love this color scheme!! My Covid uniform is just a sweater and jeans. It’s always freezing in my apartment at school so all I can muster is cozy sweaters! I also tried to bring as little to school as possible, so my outfits are usually pretty blah in terms of accessories since I left most of my stuff at home.

    Miles of smiles,

I think the pandemic has changed how we dress everyday because we are now home more often and working from home.
I always start my day wearing gym clothes then get dressed up because I have a whole closet full of clothes that I enjoy wearing.
I wear lipstick too and my face masks have stains on them as proof.

That floral dress is so pretty with your combat boots.

    Have a great week Jess!

Beautiful outfit, Jess! And I like your more casual outfit too. I think the pandemic has made me upgrade my my loungewear a bit. LOL!

I’m glad your mom got her 1st vaccine! So has mine, and her 2nd vaccine is scheduled. Very happy about that.

I love the dress! Lately I have been doing leggings and sweaters. I spent way too much time in pj’s and now get dressed even if I am home all day just to feel better.

Jess, you and I are of a similar mind. I’d wear a floral dress with a moto jacket and chunky boots any time, pandemic or not.

Love how you led with a beautiful outfit, and then showed the actual thing – hahaha! I have sleeping PJs, then I wake up and switch to my house PJs. If I have to go out, I’ll throw on my usual jeans and tee, but I spend most of my time in comfy house clothes.

Hey, your pandemic uniform looks a lot like mine! Lol! Also, jeans and a sweatshirt. I am really into sweatshirts this winter! Love the feminine-masculine outfit as well. Good for you taking an art class. I will have to check out your doggies drawings!

I love your style ALWAYS Jess. Personally I have to admit that I think I’ve worn more things during the pandemic and tried out new ways to style things just because I know that I don’t have to go anywhere so if it doesn’t look good, no one is the wiser!!!

I think I go back and forth recently too. Some days I feel like putting effort into looking nice and other days I just can’t deal. I love that burgundy moto jacket of yours! It’s such a beautiful shade!

I love to wear flowy dresses and jackets! They are so comfy but feminine at the same time. I also like your loungewear. You always look so put together. If that’s nerdy, sign me up!

Love you dress with the jacket. It’s just to cold here for me to even think about wearing a dress. But I also have a pair of cheetah pants that’s part of my Covid staples. What is the brand of your bag? I’m very addicted to bags, as you know, and absolutely love this one you are carrying today.

I love that your quarantine uniform is a pretty dress and a moto jacket—mine is sadly a sweater and jeans and I’m stuck in a horrible rut! Thanks for the inspo I need to get out of it 😉

Beautiful jacket and dress paired together and both look fab on you Jess. Before the pandemic I was not much for sweats or loungewear, now days I find myself wearing them a lot more…

That blazer is such a beautiful color!! My dresses miss me! That is a cute pandemic uniform, I love the two different leopard prints with the black top. I tend to only get dressed up with done hair and makeup on my outfit photo days for the blog. Isn’t that sad? I shower everyday, put my hair up in a wet messy bun and wear something warm and cozy. I literally just tag the kids to school and drop them off and I may see the Starbucks barista through the drive through window. I should try to look nicer for my hubby, tho! Lol!

I hear you, Jess! I also bought three crazy red lipsticks! I decided to wear only bright red lipsticks, as soon as we stop wearing masks. I think we all cannot wait when it is over. But in a meanwhile I still desperately need to dress up and have a little walk on the streets; it makes me feel so much better! I am so done with all this comfy clothes!
You look stunning in this outfit! Everything in your look matches so well! I love your dress so much! And love your idea to wear a lipstick at home, I will start doing it too.
    Stay safe and positive!

I love both looks! I typically wear normal clothes all of the time and leggings or joggers make an appearance once a week usually in my rotation. I love the moto jacket with the dress which is how I styled my red dress this week! And who can say no to leopard!

I’m realizing the mistake I made when I got my moto jacket – should have gone for suede rather than faux leather! Love the floral, moto, and combat boots combo – feminine and edgy!

Jess, this is one of my favorite style uniforms, too! A pretty floral frock with combat boots and a moto jacket! Yes, please. And I am always drawn to darker florals like this one. I have been much the same as you this past year, going from nobody cares what I look like to feeling the need to dress up sometimes. Hopefully we can return to our regular normal soon! I am so tired of this “new normal” nonsense!

This is such a great outfit formula, the dress and jacket are a perfect colour combination together and I love the matchy matchy with the bag too! 🙂

I am dressing a lot more casually – I think I wear a tee almost every day when I get dressed into something other than loungewear, haha!

Thank you for the link up 🙂

Hope your week is going well 🙂

Love the maxi dress, it has a nomad free-spirit vibe, especially when paired with combat boots. I guess it’s hard for us Australians fully comprehend what you guys are going through. We only have been in lockdown once for three month only last year and our restrictions at the moment are almost non-existent. I found exercising very helpful, I did weights too and some Pilates and body balance. The main thing is do not give up, one day it will be just a bad dream 🙂
