Turning Heads Tuesday – Holiday Look- Red floral Midi Dress with Velvet Booties

Hello Ladies!
This week has been about fancy looks for the Holidays. You know I am a dress girl, and I bought this dress over the summer and couldn’t wait to wear it.

How is everyone faring getting ready for Christmas? We have the house decorated ( see my Friday post here  if you missed my Traditions and Decor). and I’ve wrapped most of the gifts. Some of them aren’t coming until the 21st…

We are planning our Holiday menu and I’ve always been impatient to give gifts. I just love finding that special something tailored to that person.

I’ve also been posting different Holiday content on IG STORIES if you want to catch up there.

Outfit

I just love red. It is striking, it calls out for attention. It is a powerful color.

What attracted me to this dress, was the chiffon, the sheer puff dramatic sleeves, and of course the red floral.

Don’t believe a silly fashion rule of “redheads shouldn’t wear red”. Jewel tones are our friend!

If you missed my new double breasted red coat I wore yesterday, see THIS POST.

I love the length and would also wear this with tall boots, but this time of year called for my Zara velvet red booties. If you want red velvet and a combat style boot- check these out!

My circle Zara bag was worn as it has pops of green and red , perfect for the season.

I am thinking I will wear this on Christmas day and my green velvet dress on Christmas Eve.

I’ll be dressing up to celebrate and after Christmas I will bring you more casual looks with denim and loungewear.

The gold ball drop earrings remind me of our Christmas tree ornaments and gold and silver balls we hang on the tree.

Are you dressing up for the Holidays or are you keepin it casual?

I’m like you when I see a dress that I love I’ll buy it ans save it to wear. This works because I’ve dreaded shopping under pressure. Plus you usually can get a fabulous discount if your biting past season. Great looking holiday dress.

    Merry Christmas to you!!!!

What a gorgeous dress and boots, Jess!! You are SO right that redheads CAN wear red!! What a dumb “rule” anyway!! I’m headed to check out your decor and red coat–what a busy time, right?

I can see why you love red! You look stunning in red! I also love how you matched two different patterns of a dress and a bag. They compliment each other so well!
I am exactly the same with gifts, just can’t wait when I give them to my favorite people!
    Have a wonderful week, Jess!

Oh how I love this pattern. And one of my favorite looks is chiffon when it is left unlined for the sleeves-such a romantic look and and bit vintage throwback, I think. I think (?) I’ve seen them before have been amazed by their richness-going to check out Zara now to take a gander.

Very pretty dress! Really nice for all times of the year, but I love the twist for the holidays.

I am pretty ready for Christmas. I still need to dig the decorations out of the shed for the porch steps, but that’s about it! My presents are wrapped, and under the tree, and the rest of my decorating is done. I usually spend days before Christmas baking tons and tons, but I’ve decided this year not to. I feel more relaxed already.

PS In the post it states to visit “THIS POST” for the double breasted red coat, but it’s missing the link.

That purse! I love it! I am hoping to wear a combo of dressy and casual outfits over the holidays. Kids will be on break so I can be casual then and dress up for Christmas and New Year’s for fun!

That dress is stunning on you and paired with those booties it’s perfect for cooler weather. I can see it with sandals in warm weather too. You wear red so well, and you are so right about outdated fashion rules like redheads not wearing red – that’s crazy! The gifts I have here are wrapped, waiting on a few more that I’ll wrap as they arrive. I couldn’t stand storing them in my room any longer so it felt good to get them wrapped and under the tree!

Red is beautiful on you and that is such a cute floral dress! it looks so nice with the velvet boots too! Hope all your gifts arrive on time! I have everything purchased but I still need to wrap some things – haven’t had a moment to myself to wrap the kids presents but I will need to do that soon – there is an awful lot of them, haha! I went overboard this year!

Thanks for the link up 🙂

Hope that you are having a great week! It’s a wet and stormy one here, summer rains have arrived!
