27 Mar Uno Alla Volta -Handcrafted Unique Jewelry
Hello Friends!
I’ve returned from our trip to visit my brother, who lives near DC. Our plan was to see the blooming cherry blossoms, visit the monuments, spend a day at a vineyard and go out for drinks/lunch. Well, I can say that I know of the Sakura trees from a folk song I taught in music class aptly titled: Sakura. As you know, we have had freezing temps, snow, and weather not conducive to blooming trees. In fact, we did not see one tree in bloom! Nevertheless, I didn’t think to call my brother and tell him to skip the visit as the trees weren’t blooming.hehe.. we would enjoy the week by spending time doing other things. I will talk more about that tomorrow for Turning Heads Tuesday, but today I am going to introduce you to a company: Uno Alla Volta.
Uno Alla Volta means One at a Time, and it is their philosophy of life, as well as their artisian’s creations. Each piece of jewelry, collectible is made with the joy of sharing their art, and creating an individual piece, using various techniques to bring a “work of art” unique to the wearer. The artists are from around the world, and take the time to create such pieces with their “hearts and hands”.
I am very particular about my jewelry, as I am not one to buy a piece that is reproduced by the thousands in order to have something everyone in the world has. I love unique, special pieces that often have stories. I have collected vintage brooches for this reason. I also search for unique pieces that are made by hand and mean something to me, a memory, provoke a thought. I did recently with our trip to Santa Fe and Taos. Santa Fe is filled with Artisans there to share their handmade creations. As you saw on the blog, I picked a medium-unique tear-shaped opal and blue infused stone to be worn as a necklace.
I love opal ,as it shines it can produce any color of the rainbow. When I was perusing the Uno Alla Volta site, I came across these dragonfly earrings. I have a love of dragonflies, don’t know why I always loved them as a kid. The silver outline and opal inlay Handcrafted by Leon Nussbaum, London silversmith, , caught my eye as a delicate shape perfect for spring. “Opal is considered “the Queen of Gems” perhaps one other reason I am attracted to it. I also love the sterling silver which outlines the opal giving it a more defined characteristic.
I decided to wear these delicate earrings with a monochromatic pine green look, with “greenery” and “purple” breaking up the solid shade in the pointed jacquard heels. I chose a pale grey quilted Rebecca Minkoff bag to break up the solid color as well. The opal would shimmer in the sun, and various colors could be seen.

The company carries jewelry, scarves, handbags, home decor and other items.
Check out the various unique Artisans of Uno Alla Volta all of the beautiful one of a kind, pieces that they offer.
I Look forward to seeing you at TURNING HEADS TUESDAY TOMORROW.
Have a great day!
