A-line: the shape of my skirt. B-Line: the direction my puppies head, when they try and go into the shops we do.

This is a place we frequent, called Birkdale Village, a small but tremendously dog-friendly shopping center, where most people nearby seem to congregate on a nice sunny day. As I have been saying,  Charlotte,  has had strange weather this year. A much chillier March, than we expected, and it was up and down, 40s, 60s, not quite steady to where you know what to wear each day. So, when I knew it was going to be closed to 80!, I thought I really wanted to wear another floral skirt, and then looked through the closet to really bring out one of these colors. When you have a patterned or floral skirt,  perhaps pick out a color in the scheme that you think will make the skirt stand out even more. It isn’t that you can’t wear a complimentary color, just that I feel that it makes the garment stand out.

So, my husband was taking photos, and this older gentleman, came up to him and asked ” Is she a model” In which I had to overhear, and laugh inside. Then he proceeded to say, ” Can I take her on a cruise with me?” Several things funny here. First, I was standing there, and I am not hearing impaired. Second, he was about 75-80, and besides being married, I haven’t never gone for older guys! It was something to laugh at. So, we continued, as we both loved the tulips and flowers around us, and I try to look for spots that are interesting if I can. We had the puppies with us, and Gibby, when he sees me, and can’t get to me, gets upset, so we parked far away from where we were and left them for a tiny bit in order to take pictures otherwise, we would end up like ” Where’s Waldo”, as people have to find my dogs in my pictures.

This skirt just looks to me like it was painted in watercolors. It reminds me of some of the Ted Baker skirts I am coveting. I just love the colors, and there is a hint of baby blue, another time I may try and bring out. Anyhow, the day was beautiful, we had wine, and a walk. Several of my favorite things.

      Hi Carrie!
Thanks for stopping by! I bought the skirt about 5 years ago at Loft. Sometimes you can get lucky and find older items on Ebay. Thank you! I appreciate your comment, and will come by your site again.

Beautiful floral prints, Jess, they do remind me of a painting! Colourful but not too bright.
I love this feminine look on you!

      Hi Monika
Aww. You are making me blush. Funny. Yes, I like statement necklaces as well as antique or antique like necklaces, they need to be different. Thank you for the lovely comments, this is one of my fav skirts, reminds me of Ted Baker in a way. xx jess

Love the watercolor skirt, Jess! Really beautiful on you! And I really like your necklace. I’m such a creature of habit. Much as I like all the beautiful necklaces out there I rarely if ever deviate from wearing my diamond cross necklace and diamond stud earrings. Maybe this Spring/Summer I will branch out a little 😉

Thanks Mary! I have had this skirt a number of years and there are so many colors in it to play up on. I like some of the statement necklaces, but it has to catch my eye. Hey, you know what they say, Diamonds are a girls best friend! I don’t blame you :-)) There are so many of these styles of necklaces out there, you would have your pick though. Have a good week Mary! xx jess
