19 Jun What to Wear to Dinner When You’re At the Beach
Happy Monday friends,
I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Here the sun was shining and it was a rather relaxing weekend for us. I suppose I have Summer on my mind, when it is officially here 2 days from now! When do you start to think about what to pack for your summer beach vacation?
Well, I know I start to think about what I am going to pack well in advance. I hope to write a post on what I pack, but in the meantime, when I selected this dress from my closet, I thought it was the perfect dress to wear to dinner for a beach vacation. You all have heard me talk about Karina dresses before, as they are among my favorite easy-care-, easy -wear dresses. When I am on vacation, I want something easy, and love something where I can just add accessories, put on some sandals and go… seafood here I come! We will be going in July and I then later share our trip on the blog.
One thing I want when I am packing is a garment that won’t wrinkle. ( sorry linen!) These dresses are light, don’t wrinkle and won’t take up much space in the luggage. Since we are going to the beach, ( Tybee Island in Savannah, GA) I love to wear some blue hues; since this dress has blues and brown tones.. think surf and sand!
This dress fulfilled both of those needs, as the light and darker blue swirls mixed with the greens and brown tones. I also don’t like to pack much jewelry when I travel, so I try and bring pieces I can wear with other outfits. This Ernesto Barcelona wooden necklace, bracelet and earrings set has a beach/sea/land vibe so I knew I would be paring it with this dress. The sandals are Steve Madden from DSW and I loved the braided straps and platform espadrille look. The platform makes them easy to walk and go with much in my closet. If I wanted an even more casual look, I could wear my white leather puma sneakers for walking around the town.
If you aren’t comfortable baring your arm in a sundress, then a light cardi would work as would a simple white tee under the dress.

Posted at 06:04h, 27 JuneI love the print of this dress, the colours are beautiful. I’ve decided I’m only taking clothes on holiday that don’t crease from now on becuase I can never be bothered to iron, so I end up not wearing anything that wrinkles, and that’s a waste of case space. Karina dresses are brilliant for travelling, I may need to add to my collection of one! I tend to favour wooden jewellery on holiday too, it just goes with everything. Love the matching set you’re wearing!

Posted at 15:01h, 20 JuneThank you Jacqui, I have a good amount of clothes, you are right. I am being pickier about about what I want to add to my closet! I keep winter/fall stuff in one room’s closet, and spring/summer in my main closet. Its not that big, so things are kinda stuffed. In our next house, that will be a requirment, but at the same stuff, I don’t need much!

Posted at 10:58h, 19 JuneThanks Jodie! I try not to pack alot, because let’s face it, when you are at the beach, how many articles of clothing do you need. I’ll probably write about packing for our Savannah trip soon. I loved the bright colors in this dress as well. xx
