Good morning ladies,
i hope everyone had a great weekend. I think we have left overs from Thanksgiving to last us a few weeks. My hubby loves hot turkey sandwiches and the smoked turkey we got was so good! I have done most of my Christmas shopping and do so all on-line. I remember i used to start quite early, and i would end up just buying more, seeing something while you are out that someone would like. It is too tempting
. I wanted to share an outfit today that would be lovely to wear for a get together with friends for the Holidays or an office party. I used to teach in the Elementary and Music classrooms, so this outfit would have worked great for our school parties. So even though, I do not have an office job, i was thinking that this would be something that would be special for the Holidays.
The outfit came together pretty easily, as i chose this textured gold pencil skirt from my closet. I’ve been wanting to wear some winter white and this pretty ruffled cardigan would be the perfect compliment. The chiffon ruffles caught my eye, and this was one of those deals from Poshmark i purchased two years ago for a mere $20. i knew with this mustard skirt i would want to add gold, as i always think wearing silver or gold during the holidays makes a look more special and festive. I added my gold leaf necklace, a gold strand bracelet and one of my favorite brooches, my gold “angel bear’ to the look. The angel bear has a special meaning for me, as i call Gibson and Truffles my little “angel bears or guardian angels”.They mean the world to me! You have seen these dangling earrings from Etsy before, they are vintage and one of my favorite pairs, especially for special occasions.
Adding a bit of print with the leopard shoes gave more color/print to the look, and this gold bow bag from Charming Charlies another touch of gold. I loved the boxy shape and the look of a wrapped bow on the front. So if you are headed to an office party or friend get together perhaps think of adding these things to your look;
- a Fun and festive clutch with beads or metallic in color for the season.
- Add gold or silver for some sparkle
- A pencil skirt in red, gold, emerald
- Add jewelry that shimmers be it a favorite vintage piece, a sentimental piece or one that makes a statement
- For shoes, add a print, or tis the season to wear velvet, brocade or embroidery. If wearing brocade or embroidery, let your shoes take the stage and keep the rest of the look classic for the holiday.
Do you attend office Holiday parties? What would you wear?
Have a great day!
