22 Feb Wearing Two Knits – Layering Knits in the Winter
Layering two or more knits has been a trend this Winter. Today, I am styling my black knit sweater dress with my chunky oversized leopard cardigan.
Layering Knits in the Winter
As we look forward to Spring, we are still experiencing some pretty cold days here. One way to combat the cold is by layering knits.
This Chicwish cardigan is quite thick and cozy. I’ve also linked to this one under $30 on Amazon.
One way to wear double knits or layering knits is to wear one piece that is a finer knit or more fitted style, and another in a heavier or chunky style. The black Mango dress I am wearing is a thinner knit, more fitted style and lends itself to layering nicely! I’ve linked to several black knit dress options, HERE, HERE and HERE, as the one I am wearing is sold out.
So, because the leopard cardigan is a thicker, chunkier knit, it will work well over this fitted style. Avoid wearing two chunky knits together, as you want to avoid a bulky look.
I added “double leopard” with the addition of my leopard clutch, but if you prefer a pop of color with neutrals or leopard, add a fun bag or accessory in a bold shade. Any color will do, as leopard is a neutral, as you all know! ๐
I like to think my brooches are a bit of my signature style and have a bit of a vintage collection I bought from an Estate sale on-line. Just gives it that extra sparkle.
On Another Note
If you missed my post Friday, and catching up, I talked about what I am eating, doing, wearing, etc in February. I’d love for you to visit!
How was your weekend? I mentioned we have had quite a bit of rain lately and our front yard has looked like a small pond recently. We were able to finally go for a walk on the greenway and get some fresh air! I know we are looking forward to Spring and warmer weather when we can eat outside and go back vineyard hopping!
Enjoy your week ladies!
This is the black knit dress I am wearing under the leopard cardigan. It first appeared in THIS POST.ย

Posted at 20:30h, 28 MarchThese are great tips about layering a knit over another knit. LOVE your mix of leopards so much and it was my pleasure featuring this look on Thursday Moda a couple of weeks ago. =)
Hope you had a great weekend, JESS!

Posted at 11:00h, 01 MarchGreat look, Jess! I love the mixture of leopard prints and knit textures. I just got a similar knit black dress and long leopard cardigan this past weekend out shopping with my sister. I may have to recreate this look soon! Thanks for linking with me.

Posted at 04:54h, 22 FebruaryI love that black knit dress and the cardigan! You are wearing your brooches too – and I just love the sparkle they add. I’m not buying any more sweater because I think we are going to start warming up here, but I love admiring them on everyone else who still has normal winter weather!
