15 Jun White Linen Blouse with Denim Shorts

Good Morning friends,

I hope you all had a good weekend.

I wear mostly dresses and denim shorts in the summer, as it gets mighty hot here in the South.

The Weekend

As you know my mom is going to be visiting for awhile. It has been nice having her company with us, as we all deal with this situation. We have certainly been eating well, and have ordered some of my favorites- salmon, crab, and chicken on the grill. I think about how it is difficult to older people living alone who need someone.

Saturday we packed up the car and drove an hour to Westbend Vineyards. We were surprised as we pulled in the lot and saw the crowd. We decided to go up the road to another vineyard, Raylan Vineyard. It was one of the coolest sunniest days we’ve had in awhile, so there was a good crowd there as well. We kept our distance by putting our canopy in the field, about 30 feet from the main area. We stayed under the canopy and listened to the country rock music playing while we ate a packed picnic lunch. We enjoyed each others company, and I was surprised by the people who weren’t social distancing. I just love to be outside and listen to music, so it was a great day overall.

My Outfit

Hot weather calls for some cool linen. I went linen crazy a few years ago, and have also spotted some great pieces in this post, Linen Loves.

The white button -down is a great staple for summer, that will go with anything.

I wanted to add my feminine touch but wearing these periwinkle statement earrings.

The blue denim jean shorts are another staple I find myself reaching for throughout the summer.  I will also be featuring another shorts look tomorrow, and prefer the 4′ inseam on my shorts. I’ll be sharing with you some other styles of shorts for you later in the week.

The white strappy sandals are fun and add to the minimal look of this outfit.

Straw bag- Zara ( loves these straw bags, amazon,  Amazon)

Earrings– Amazon ( they are very light!)

    I’m glad you were able to get out and enjoy a picnic while keeping your social distance. I have also been dismayed by those who are eschewing all precautions. It sounds like a lovely day. Your outfit is lovely. We spent August and September in Miami back in 2016. The heat and humidity were unlike anything I’d experienced before. The right clothes are a must.

    This is a cute, simple look. I really like linen and think I need more of it my summer wardrobe! I’m so glad you got out to a concert and winery. Personally, I don’t worry too much about social distancing if I’m in open air and sunshine–*not* that I’ve been close to people in that situation.

      Thank you Kim! I do love the comfort and feel of linen, especially here in the South. Yes, we had a very nice weekend and we felt comfortable outside with our canopy, enjoying the music.
