You Can Still Wear Jeans in the Summer

Can you still wear jeans in the summer?

Denim Look in the Summer

The answer to that question is a Heck ya! ( if you want to!)

Remember, we don’t follow those silly age rules!

BUT, it does come down to … will I die from heat stroke wearing jeans? Will they have to peel them off of me like Ross in Friends trying to get off his leather pants?

Really, it is about where you might wear them this summer, what kind of cut and material we are talking about .

I would wear this outfit to listen to a jazz concert in Uptown for instance. The Jazz Room, in Charlotte, is a local venue, inside with wonderful jazz artists. And I am sure you know that it is a given, when it is hot outside, establishments love to crank the air  to where it feels like your stepping into a freezer!

So indoor events would certainly apply, as does going out in the evening. I love cooler summer evenings for that reason.

As far as cut, a looser fit would be best. These are Madewell Slim Boy Jeans, and are kind of a boyfriend looser fit. ( for reference, I am wearing a size 26 in Madewell, I wear a 27 in other brands) They are on sale with CODE SALEONSALE .A straight leg jean with a 90’s cut could certainly work as well. The idea is air flow!  I won’t be wearing skinny jeans this summer, because they are more form fitting to the body and often a thicker material.  Lightweight denim is preferred.

These jeans also have Tencel, which is a soft material, making them ultra comfortable as well. Not to mention, the “built in ” air conditioning, with a few distressed areas!

White denim is also a favorite pick for summer, as most often they are made of a lighter material. Look for some great cuts like a wide leg cropped jean for a change of pace. This top would look great with a pair of white straight leg jeans or a pair of wide leg denim.

I also bought this cobalt eyelet top last summer from Poshmark, and it fits like a dream. It is a mixed media top and the front portion is cotton with eyelet and scallop details. One of those bright colors that just looks vibrant in an outfit.

I kept it simple with my  Bruno Magli bag and braided heels, and had to wear my cobalt floral earrings from Baublebar. ( bought a few years ago)

Now, most of the time you will see me in cotton or linen pieces in the summer, especially during the heat of the day, but as I mentioned, going out to a casual dinner, meeting friends later at night, are times when lightweight jeans can work well.

I may consider wearing this top with my white denim for the 4th of July as well.

I love Friends – really enjoyed seeing that reference in there! Great outfit! Living in Florida, I still prefer jeans in the Summer so this is my kind of outfit.

Well as I’ve put on a little weight and all my jeans are tight, I for one am loving that my wide linen pants are out again! But to be honest there are few places that a pair of jeans can’t take you whatever the time of the year, and in particular dark denim is extremely smart. The cobalt blue is amazing against the color of your hair Jess, beautiful.

I’m always surprised how many people I see wearing jeans when it’s darn hot here in the summers. Granted, if they are inside all the time, it’s different. But I’m telling you, my jeans get put away for about 3 months. I do have a very lightweight pair, but still, it’s rare.

Love how you’ve dressed up your jeans with this gorgeous cobalt blue eyelet top! I especially love white jeans in summer. I don’t wear jeans very often because I have several pairs of capri jeans which I can only wear in summer.

I have a couple of lightweight denim jeans – if only I would hem them. LOL! I love that top. The color is just gorgeous and looks so pretty with your hair. And those earrings are incredible!

Lol I hear you! I wear jeans year round no matter if it’s sweltering. It’s just a go-to for me. I love your top and the button fly detail of your jeans. Perfect for a day out and about this summer!
