16 Jul A Juxtaposition of Style with Warby Parker
When I was looking at the two lines of sunglasses in the Warby Parker Sunglass Line, (click here for Summer 2014) , I thought to myself, their Sunglass line has an air of fun, laid back style, and classic fashion, but also many of the frames come in a wood like quality, a more casual, outdoorsy look. On the other hand, the Karlie Kloss line , states more of a high fashion, look-at-me, elegant style that can be worn with dressy skinny jeans, to fashionably colorful midi skirts, evening dresses and the like. That is not to say one has to dress a certain way to wear the Warby Parker line, just different moods and scenerios are more favorable for certain styles. Warby Parker is a company out of New York whose glasses are very popular and known worldwide.
According to Brian Magida, at Warby Parker, “When working with Karlie Kloss we’ve created three new sunglasses that are graceful, polished and full of personality, just like Karlie. Each sale will benefit an organization dear to Karlie— Edible Schoolyard NYC. They provide kitchens and gardens to low-income public schools, giving students the tools to develop lifelong healthy habits. As always, just like all of our existing collections, for every pair sold, we are going to distribute a pair to someone in need through our non-profit partners.”
My husband and I shot these photos to represent a juxtaposition in style with the Warby Parker lines. The woodsy trail and the outdoors vs. the higher fashion in the chiffon black dress creates an image of contrast. To me, this represents the causal, laid back, fun-in -the -sun feel with the woodsy trail representing such an image. The image of the black chiffon dress, bold red necklace in such a setting shows that Warby Parker is also stylish, fashionable, graceful, and contemporary as well. –Jess
