Adding A Piece to Your Wardrobe That Will Be a Workhorse

Happy Monday!

I am sharing a garment today that will be a workhorse in your wardrobe.

Adding a Piece to your Wardrobe That will be a Workhorse

Our style, throughout the years, evolves. What I might have enjoyed wearing or felt was “me”, may not be at this point in time.

Our taste changes.

When I started this blog, I was into vintage styles and now I am more inclined to wear classic and romantic styles.

Each year I go through my closet and donate what “isn’t me” or what I no longer wear. I also buy and sell on Poshmark, as you know. ( if you want to check out my closet HERE).

If I sell a garment I no longer wear, I will replace it with something my style, currently.

This silk midi skirt was something I had wanted for my closet for a while. I love the champagne color, but it comes in at least 7 other colors as well. It is machine washable! Care of clothing is something I look at too. Remember this dress I returned last year as I didn’t realize it had all of the beading? Well, your garments have to work for you and your lifestyle.

This skirt is 100% silk, is machine washable, and can be worn nearly year-round. I love the look with a blazer like I did here, but you could also style it with a tee, a jean jacket and some converse sneakers to make it more casual. Wearing the skirt in the Fall and Winter, you can certainly style a nice chunky sweater and boots with it. It really is a piece that can be worn both casually and dressy, throughout the seasons. This is one of those questions I ask myself when I am buying a new garment. How many seasons can I wear it and how many ways can I style it?

It has a hidden elastic band, and is very comfortable and light, as you would expect. I am wearing my usual size 4 (small) here, so I would say, it is true to your regular size. I’m also wearing these undies underneath, so I don’t have VPL. (visible panty lines)

I paired this skirt with my Vince linen blazer and H&M cami, along with my Sarah Flint sandals and nude pink Teddy Blake bag, making for a soft, neutral look.  Perhaps I should have added my sunglasses, as you can see the bags under my eyes!

Since this is a neutral palette, any color bag or accessory would work here. I also added my new Monica Vinader Baroque pearl earrings and my Duo Dupont Baroque gold necklace, as I love the look of gold and pearls with the shimmer of the champagne colored skirt.

Wear this with a bright pink light sweater for Spring, add a pair of fashion sneakers or sandals, and there you have another incarnation. This silky skirt will be the seeing the light of day, more often than not.

A Busy Weekend

How have you been? This weekend was happily a busy one! We went to a nearby park on Friday, took the pups and had a picnic lunch. Saturday, we drove to JOLO Vineyards and enjoyed their “Pick up Party” where you pick up your 3 wines for the quarter and have a dinner they offer. It was so nice outside, and the wine is primo! So Sunday, was kind of a recoup day, getting blog work done, reels and cleaning. I hope you are enjoying some of the Spring weather.

It seems to be close to “sandal season”, which means it’s time for a pedicure. I think I’m going to make an appointment for next month, along with a facial. I still have a gift card my SIL gave me for it, so it will be some nice pampering. Any suggestion on toe color?

Do you have pieces for Spring that are workhorses in your wardrobe? Let me know in the comments!

I have fallen in love with silk skirts and have quite a few of them. I think they are easy to wear and I can layer them over some of my shorter dresses.
Glad you had a wonderful weekend, Jess!!

I have been wanting a silk skirt for awhile! I’m still not sure what color I want, but I love that this skirt comes in other colors… but, I really love the color you’re wearing! It is so pretty for the spring! That Teddy Blake bag is a beauty too!

Dear, you look fabulous! I love this skirt very much. My spring wardrobe workhorses are certainly the white crisp blouse and the blue cotton cardigan
