THT-Adding Spring Touches to a Winter Outfit

Today I have added some Spring touches to my Winter outfit.

This scarf, in a pretty pink and olive floral was the catalyst for today’s look.

Adding Spring Touches to a Winter Outfit

I find as I shop my closet for the last remnants of the Winter Season, I wanted to add bits of Spring to my look today.

One look at this scarf, and knew I wanted to style a look around it. I love the color combination of pink and olive, as you can see from

these former posts:

Olive Linen Pants with Floral Blouse

Camo, Floral and a Moto Jacket

I did, however, want to style it in a new way.

Do you often put the same pieces together? Take a look at some of your accessories and put a new mix together. Try experimenting, that is what is great about fashion. It’s all about creativity and coming up with new combinations of ways to wear things.

This Madewell pink sweater is so soft and was purchased on my favorite thrifting site, Poshmark. My Denizen white jeans were a Target purchase a few years ago and are my favorite pair with just enough stretch. The scarf was purchased a few years ago on H&M, and THIS SCARF is also romantic and carries similar tones. Franco Sarto is one of my favorite shoe designers and these were purchased at 6pm, a company owned by Amazon, with discounted shoes etc. My pair is not available, but I did find a similar pair by Franco Sarto.

Blush and olive look wonderful and so soft together. You could also stick with pink and green, but other tones. I love the brilliant look of bright pink/hot pink with a Kelly green. No chance of blending in with these looks!

If you are itching for Spring like am, but it still a bit cold, another option is to layer a sweater or blazer over a Spring dress Let’s make our outfits go even farther.

What’s Happening

Well, February is rolling right along, isn’t it? This past weekend we enjoyed going out to our favorite wine bar (I’m recommending Bella Glos, a Napa Pinot Noir that is dry and has a Jammy taste) with the pups, purchased and built outdoor furniture for our deck, (Hubby, not me- I run at the site of an assembly booklet!) and I’ve started a reading a new book, The Silent Patient. We have to take Truffles to see the doggy Ophthalmologist soon, as she has a cloudy eye, I am hoping it’s just from aging and not a cataract.

Have you styled your outfits around a certain accessory? Have you mixed pink and green?

Let me know in the comments. I love to hear from you!

Great blog topic. This is especially helpful in chilly spring weather. A simple accessory can brighten up a grey rainy day instantly.

This is lovely outfit, Jess! The coral pink is a great color on you. I’ve recently purchased some second hand scarves through ThredUp. I need to create some outfits around them. I hope Truffles eye issue is nothing serious. Please keep us posted.

Oh roll on Spring, it seems a long way off over here in the UK. Dreamy colors today Jess!
‘The Silent Patient’ was recommended as a ‘must read’ on another website – love to follow these leads sometimes as it pushes me out of my comfort zone. A very different read for me but enjoyable and very thought provoking.

Such a beautiful and luxurious look, Jess! I love these soft and muted pastel colors as a way to transition to spring. I am a fan of Franco Sarto shoes, also. Many of this brand’s shoes seem to fit my narrow foot. Hope Truffles eye problem is a minor one. Thanks for sharing and the link up!

I need to start pulling out my spring scarves, with the cold days here and there I have been still wearing my winter ones but hopefully the weather will stop its back and forth. This is a very pretty look!

Oh no, poor Truffles, I hope her eye is okay. It’s easy to forget that these sweet pups are getting older when they still seem like puppies.
I chuckled at your comment about running at the sight of an assembly book – I feel the same way – lol!
Pink and olive look so good on you and it’s such a pretty combo. I typically wear bright pink and bright green together because they are such a fun pair.
Thanks for the link up Jess!
