06 Aug Casual Look with Denim Shorts and Loft Red Tank
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as we delve into summer a bit more. This is always the time of year where I start to crave Fall clothes and shoes, so I got a bit of a head start and found some amazing sales. I wrote about Things i Love About Summer in this post, as it isn’t over yet! Speaking of summer, this is a fun and casual look from LOFT that I put together, as I love red and halter tops are the thing when the heat is on!
Last year I wrote a post about Wearing a Romper ( shorts “jumper” for those in the UK) as I feel ladies of any age can wear shorts if they want to! I bought these medium rinse denim shorts at Loft Outlet and they were a whopping $18! The top I had seen on another blogger, Lisa, and I loved the neckline and flowy, peplum style, not to mention it is in red. I love this rich, vibrant, shade – one of my favorites.
For an even more casual look, I could have worn my white Seychelle leather slides, or a pair of my new converse sneakers, but I decided to go for a bit more funkiness and fun with my Jambu gladiator sandals in a deep red color. A women in Loft said she loved my shoes- i do get asked about Jambu when I were them! Stay tunes on the blog for some Fall styles and a discount code from me.
Denim shorts are one of those staples that are great for the summer. They go with everything and look current . There are denim shorts with embellishments, details, and longer more “Bermuda style” shorts. Varying lengths for everyone’s taste. I folded the hem to the shorts up once, as this is the style and they are loose and comfy. For reference, these are a size 2 in Loft, a size down from my jean size.
Had a great time at one of our favorite places, The Cottage, as they host a wine dinner each weekend. Since I don’t eat meat other than chicken and fish, I had to let them know. We had a great time with the 5 wines ranging from a White Bordeux from France, a Pinot Griogio from Italy to a California Pinot Nior and last, my favorite, a Spanish Tampranillo. Sometimes, I think I daydream of owning a vineyard and enjoy the fruits of the labor. I know it is hard work, but I truly enjoy learning about various wines and climates. The dinner was scrumptious with a starter of apple tart accompanied by the White Bordeaux, the dinner a chicken, orzo and spinach meal with a medium bodied Pinot Nior and dessert of peach pie/whipped cream with the final wine. I didn’t quite make it to dessert, so hubby graciously finished mine off~
You all know by now I am a purse girl. I just loved the circle shape of this bag, a vintage feel and the colorful floral embroidery. Another Poshmark find, this bag is from Zara. i do plan on doing a post on some wonderful thrifting deals i have found recently.
In the Summer I am not one to wear a lot of heavy jewelry and sometimes forgo necklaces altogether. Iv’e been enjoying buying some statement earrings from Baublebar, where I purchased these white floral drop earrings .
As a Jambu Brand Ambassador, I knew I wanted to wear a red shoe with this look, and these strappy gladiator sandals were the perfect mix. The Sugar Too I have posted about HERE, a fun a beautiful, red shoe. I’ve done many posts on Jambu, and the fact they have have a memory foam footbed make them so easy to wear all day. Not to mention, stylish! I’ll be posting more on Jambu in the Fall!
