04 Sep Fall Trends- Which Would You Wear?
Happy Monday friends!
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend as we get closer to heading into Fall. I love the cooler weather we have been having in NC.. the oppressive heat is over! Fall is my favorite season and it always has been, as I love the colors of the leaves, fresh air, cooler air , camping among other things and warm and cozy fashion.. ( not to mention pumpkin spice everything!) But as we talk about Fall fashion, let’s look at some of the Trends.
Are you a trend setter? Or do you avoid trends as you don’t want to look like you are trying to hard at being “trendy”? Do you have a few pieces in your wardrobe that you consider trendy? I wouldn’t say I love all of the trends for each season, but I may find some I like and incorporate them into my closet.
I do prefer classic pieces or clothing that will stand the test of time, but I also like to keep abreast of current trends in Fashion. Just like anything, they may not suit everyone! I talked about colors from the Pantone Institute for Fall, and one color has been predcted for Fall trends- Red. shades of green ( olive, khaki, ), Fall florals, midi skirts, paper bag waist trousers, blush shades, velvet. faux fur, gliiter , plaid suiting, are just some of the trends showing up on the runway.
When you look in a magazine or website, do you look at the trends and say, “I can’t wear that in Real Life!” Well, I thought I would give some examples of how some of these trends can be worn in reality. Some of my images were from previous Fall shoots.

Red: One of my favorite colors, jewel tones are rich and beautiful for the Fall.
If you aren’t exactly a person to wear red, perhaps try an accessory – such as a lipstick red bag, or bold necklace. I love red and find it is a stand-out color! Jewel tones are some of my favorite colors to wear. I LOVE this striped red top by Mango.
Blush: Pale pink has been popular for awhile. Pair it with olive shades for a striking color combination. I also love to wear it with a more traditional pairing of grey/blush. Love this BLUSH PINK LONG CARDIGAN for a variety of ways to wear in the Fall.
Plaid Suiting: I love a great brown plaid tailored jacket . Wear with jeans or some tailored pants. If you want to wear trend on trend.. a tailored plaid jacket with a pleated midi skirt would look great. There are some great plaid trousers out there for Fall. These PLAID PANTS WITH PAPER BAG WAIST are on my Fall wishlist. 
Fall Florals: Knowing my blog, you know I am a fan of florals. They are prominent in the Fall with long dresses, dark floral colors for a romantic look. Fall floral blouses are another way to incorporate fall florals- mix them with a plaid pencil skirt for a trendy print mix combination. Love the flutter sleeves on this pretty ( on sale) MANGO FLORAL DRESS.
Velvet- I have always liked velvet. Popular last year, it is showing again this Fall. Create an outfit with rich textures for Fall using Velvet. I have found some of my velvet pieces through thrifting and through on-line shops. LOVE this MUSTARD COLORED LONG VELVET BLAZER. (a color that is very big this season!)
Moto jackets- Moto jackets are back for the Fall and they are a great way to layer. I look forward to sharing the jacket I bought from the Nordstrom Sale this year. They are a great staple to have in your closet! I adore this SPICE COLORED SUEDE MOTO JACKET I will be styling from the NSale.

For me, I think it’s all about selected what you like and wearing it in a way that is modern and contemporary. Your photos showcase just how well you do that.
