20 Feb First Year Favorite Winter Looks
( Zara Wine faux leather skirt, Burgundy red square toe heels( with bow), Loft vintage-inspired floral cardigan)
I wanted to show you some of my favorite looks winter of this past year. Since it was just my one year anniversary, it was fun to go back and look at what style, textures and colors I liked best this year. Enjoy!
( My all red holiday look with Sheinside circle skirt, lace tights Aldo kitten heels, Banana Republic Floral rose cardigan and vintage pearl necklace: Etsy)
My Vintage stole ( Etsy) Teal brooch ; Etsy), Brown Lace skirt : Loft, Born Leather boots, Teal velvet jacket ( Loft) Louis Vuitton Speedy Damier 30
Vintage leopard coat ( steal for $25 on Ebay..look around ladies, there are treasures!), Sweater Loft, Mustard pencil skirt ( Banana Republic) Tweed Enzo Angiolini kitten heels: Ebay
Cashmere sweater : Tweed Skirt : Loft ( years ago) Born Over the Knee boots Handbag: Kate Spade
My BR skirt, and great Vintage find: fur capelet Chicago fur Co 1923, shoes leopard, Naturalizer flats
I obviously did want to share this with you and hope you can either find inspiration or color/texture combinations you like. Have you looked over your past year’s looks and picked favorites? I also wanted to let you know I did have an alterior motive. It is rediculously cold here! Today the high is 24 degrees and cold and I don’t get along! I thought, this time next year I would love to go somewhere warm. This is something I have never done. Go to a beach with the warm sun beating down, the sky blue clear waters and umbrella drinks really sounds appealing right now!
Perhaps I am a wimp when it comes to the cold, but it affects my joints and muscles. Both of my brothers ski. I never skied, I just fell. I would be the one in the chalet near the fire drinking hot cocoa. I was always more of an athletic girl in all seasons except winter.
Nevertheless, the dream of being in Cancun or somewhere sunny isn’t happening this year, so back to reality. Looking at some of my winter outfits, I love textures such as velvet, tweed, lace, boiled wool . Materials such as cashmere, leather, faux leather are also favorites. There used to be colors that redheads “shouldn’t wear”. I say, phooey to those rules! I do wear pink, and have a fair amount of it for spring, but also love jewel tones such as emerald green, teal, purple, and sapphire.I wear my fair share of midi skirts but love mini skirts as well. I also try and find vintage pieces, coats, blazers, and jewelry, and incorporate it as part of my look.
I am in love with over the knee boots and will have to add other fall tones to my collection next year. Another favorite I wanted to include is my love of grey with light colors, pale pink, pastel blue etc. I have done some pairings of grey with pink and just love the softness and feminity of it.
What textures have you worn this past winter? Which of my outfits would you be more inclined to wear , why?
Have a great day and stay warm!
Jess xo
