Enter: Stage  left ( Roger: Joanie can you come in here a minute? Joan: Roger you know we can’t do this. Roger: Do what honey, come on over here and pour me a drink, and yourself one” Joan: Why Roger, what’s going on that I have to drink?” Roger: We all decided you need to become partner” Joan: Was it this dress? This beautiful Ann Taylor, red floral dress, and these new glasses I just got..

Back to reality….I bought this floral poppy sheath dress last year at Ann Taylor, and it WAS love at first sight.  I love florals, lace, lots of girly stuff. Once I wore it, I thought I could be in the cast of Mad Men. Not quite the expert as the twist for the hair as an updo, as “Joan” or lets say her stylist would do, so I kept it down. When I was asked by Readers.com to model these, I was excited. These are the same style as I wore with the leopard cat eye last week, except black , which as we know can go with everything. I tried to get my hubby to use a tri-pod and pose as Don Draper, as he could slick his hair back, put on a suit, and pass. He would rather be, “behind the scenes”. Besides posing in the cat eyeglaases, The Brit, and wearing a the 60’s looking dress straight from Mad Men, having red hair like Joan’s, I was all set to pour a few ( read: few =more than anyone ever drinks in the workplace) glasses of a drink that the whole company indulges in every couple hours. I also pictured myself reading an accounting book( Joan does this) and posing with the glasses on. This dress was my style as it has red poppies, green leaves, and fushia flowers in it. The material was lovely as it was so soft and comfortable on the body in a silky material. If I could have worn heels, I would have paired them with a little bow on a pointed slingback in red or black.

What are your favorite kind of dresses to wear? Are you a sheath girl, wrap dress, a-line style ?  Can you see yourself  wearing cat-eye glasses? The ones I am wearing here are the brit, as a part of the Make a Statement Collection.  Check them out and others on Readers.com. Tomorrow will be the last installment of showing this collection, and how I see to pair them with certain outfits.

Thank you, one of my favorite dresses, I would love to just be in the midst of a poppy field. I do most of my shopping on-line, and if I need something taken in, I see my tailor, she is great. Once in awhile, I will get the urge to go in and see the girls in places I know and try things on. Glad you enjoy my site. Not hiding alot yet, I guess. Thanks for visiting

Thank you. Sounds great. I appreciate the compliments. I loved the Mad Men post, but I could have tried to do the hair flip, or put it in an updo, my hair just wasn’t cooperating that day! I would have perhaps added a pill box hat if I had one! Yes Ann Taylor is my favorite shop. I have to do most shopping online so what is great is I know my size there, so most often it works. If not, I have a great tailor who takes things in for me. I have some trouble sometime as I have a very small waist 23 inch, where skirts always have room, but then they fit in the hips. Anyhow, Sounds lovely, I will check out your blog!

Thanks so much, Nicolene, I will do the same. I try to dress very classic with some trend to it at times, I do love vintage jewelry,so I try to include it as much as possible. Funny, as in college, I mostly wore all black, and I remember my Eurythmics ( music) teacher telling me I would looks so pretty in pastels! I laugh at that. I also appreciate the comments.

Thank you Alice. I visit your site, and enjoy it. I love this dress, and the one thing I wanted to do was an updo, allthough my hair was not cooperating into an updo that day!

A big “yes” to all your questions! You know how much I love dresses, especially wrap dresses but they go hand in hand with shift dresses. I’d instantly wear this beautiful look incl. your glasses, Jess. The little side draping is a lovely touch.

Have a look at this blog, I am sure you will love Amber’s style as well as Amber’s writing skills: http://www.foreveramber.co.uk/
And she is a red head 🙂

      HI there Annette
Thank you. Yes, I love the color of your dress this week, and thought this would work well with the glasses. I do like this shift dress, comfortable and the print was just for me . I follow Amber’s site, funny you mention it, as Catherine said Amber could be a younger version of myself! I have been there many times but she must be busy, as I don’t hear back. Thank you, Annette.

        Hi Jess,

Sorry if you’ve been disappointed that I haven’t had a chance to visit your blog yet: I have read your comments asking me to take a look, but I have been very busy lately (I haven’t been updating much myself because of that) and there just aren’t enough hours as I’d like for blog reading unfortunately.

Lovely dress and glasses – I have some cat’s eyes like that myself: definitely my favourite shape!

Hi Amber! I know you must be busy! I see you are working on several blogs. I know how much time one takes. I love your hair too, as I just love red hair. I sent you an email about my cat eye glasses as I plan to get them in prescription. I just loved these from readers.com. Thanks for your response. Jess

Thanks Pam! i love this dress. It certainly screamed Spring! when I first saw it 🙂 I am so ready. Temps here are going a little wacky from cold to warm and back, so we will see. I enjoyed the black cat eyes with the dress, as I saw it fitting. 🙂

Pam, I really appreciate you following me and giving me support. You have been wonderful. I love this dress. It reminds me of a spring meadow. There is actually a painting by Monet, I think called Poppies, and this reminded of it. I may however, be wearing fall clothes on Friday as it is supposed to go to 50ish.
