16 Jan New Blog Design +Mixed Patterns: Paisley and Plaid
Hello Friends!
I hope you had a wonderful, warm and cozy weekend. I had a medical procedure I won’t go into, other than to say, everyone should get it done when they are 45, every 10 years. I always get nervous during these exams, but surprisingly didn’t need a bit of valium to calm me. The anesthesiologist said ” I will take a nice nap” and off to sleep I went! Boy, if I could only sleep like that at night! So, that was my bit of fun! Otherwise, I went to the gym, along with everyone and their mom who goes after Christmas and New Years. I mentioned before my goals, and started off slowly with weight machines that were ‘shiny and new”, making sure I didn’t overdo it. ( I can have a tendency to be “gung ho”)
Speaking of goals, I wanted to share my new blog design today! I was ready for a change, wanted something “clean” and organized and loved how it turned out. My hubby is the tech-guru, works in IT, and doesn’t lose patience with computers ( not me!) He and I worked together to create this new site. I decided to emphasize in red, the letters “E-D-S” as an inside reminder to me ( with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) that I have come a long way from 9 years ago when I was first diagnosed. So I hope you enjoy the new layout.
Now, regarding my outfit today.. One of my goals in the New Year, pertaining to fashion was to experiment more with pattern mixing. I have done so HERE and HERE, and today wanted to create a layered look mixing a paisley pattern with a plaid green and navy print. Both are smaller sized prints, both navy and green in color. I also wanted to give this look a more casual vibe and added my Sofft combat boots. They are some of the most comfortable pair I own.
Are you being more adventurous with your outfits? Tell me how!
I hope to see you tomorrow for TURNING HEADS TUESDAY FASHION LINKUP!

Posted at 22:41h, 17 JanuaryJess, I love the print mixing you did here. It really is neat how just using similar colors can allow us to put patterns together in ways that are chic and stylish. Your jacket is very cute and I also love that you styled the two prints with those burgundy pants. The boots are perfect for this outfit. You look so good, even after that lovely procedure you had. Ha, ha. Glad you have come so far from when you were first diagnosed with EDS and I love that your blog refresh accents those letters. It looks great! – Amy

Posted at 09:24h, 16 JanuaryThank you Jodie! I have to say I have gained much from blogging as I hadn’t done much with pattern mixing until then and in other ways have learned quite abit. Oh yeah, get out those combat boots. Sofft makes great shoes and boots and are excellent quality. Glad you love the design, we both worked on it, but he helped me out when I would get frustrated!
