18 Sep #NYFW- Our view, Jersey City, Family, Sneak Peek

For someone with EDS, I did alot of walking. For someone WITHOUT it, I did alot of walking. Jersey City and New York are not that conducive to wearing heels and walking blocks. What is a girl to do? I am not living in the early 90s where I can wear my sneakers with my dress and change. right? Just doesn’t look right, and I know someone either said, ” One has to suffer for beauty”, or something along those lines. Hmmmm. Well, , I wanted to share with you the view from my brother’s place and some of the sights I took in while I was there.

The building is where my brother lives with his wife and new puppy, French bulldog Jack, who by the middle of the visit I was calling “Jackie Boy”.. sounding like some Italian mobster from TV.  or something, it sounded right to me, Hey, “Jackie-Boy, come here..” More on that. The view is just amazing on the patio, so each morning Roy and I would sit with coffee and some breakfast and just take it in. Love a room with a view!

The lights for the Twin Towers shine nightly, and it saddens me, but also is a great reminder of the people who are missed. Beautiful view at night as well. The walkway is behind the condo, and the clock tower newly renovated. Lets just say Roy got a “few” pictures of the city scape. We took  “Jackie-Boy” for a walk on the boardwalk and up and down the streets. Of course smiles abound, and I always laugh to myself, as one becomes ________’s owner. If you own a pup, you know what I mean. I wonder if in our neighborhood, people know our names?  We are often referred to as, “Gibby and Truffles owners”, or ” Aren’t you Gibson and Truffles Mom and Dad”? I told my brother to expect this.  He will become known as  Jack’s Dad.

Look at that face! That is MORE than a mother could love! It is a mom and dad, Aunt and Uncle and anyone else who comes in contact 🙂 He is very sweet and loves to give kisses, and was getting the benefit of a trainer the day we left. He had 3 little pillows converted into a set of stairs leading onto the couch. He was able to make his way onto the couch to get to his favorite chew toys, or enjoy numerous belly rubs!

I have pictures on Instagram and other social media of the doors, ironwork, and architecture of some of the apartments and brownstones in Jersey City. I am a fan of architecture and capturing it in cities I visit. Something about doors and windows  that I like.

Lastly, this is a sneak preview of part of the look that I wore to the Betsey Johnson Fashion Show and one of the looks on the runway. So much fun and loads of energy! ( Doesn’t that describe me to a T? ) haha! I will be writing and sharing those pictures next week, so I hoped to tantalize you just a bit this week with just part of my #NYFW experience. I will continue with another look I wore to the show, and pictures from the Betsey Johnson show itself next week on Elegantly Dressed and Stylish.

I will give you a hint, the vintage earrings I am wearing in the  second to last picture are part of the color scheme of my outfit you will see. 🙂

 At the Betsey Johnson Show:  “Whew, I ALMOST wore the same outfit!”

When did “Crimping” come back into fashion? For those of you not in the 80s, it is not a “dance craze”. 🙂
