IMG_0265Hello ladies!Welcome to 2016! I partied hard! It is amazing I am able to type this blog post. No, everyone! ahaha! I am sure you know me a bit by now, to know that I am not a party till the break of dawn-drink champagne until I fall over kind of girl! You all know I have to take meds for my illness, so if I make it up until midnight, it is amazing! Well, I did. We enjoyed a New Years Eve with the pups, drank champagne, ate sushi and watched the ball drop. My girl, Truffles shakes and gets so scared with fireworks, we try and calm her down. She stays awake all night just staring out the window, waiting for the next big boom! We had a good time though. Midnight rolls around, we say, Happy New Year, and I think by 12:03, I am in bed.

lorna7 Happy New Year! I imagine you won't be surprised to know that I am not such a party til  the break of dawn type of girl, but still enjoy a fun New Years with some cocktails, earlier movie and watching the ball drop from Times Square.I am looking forward to 2016 and hope it is a great year for Health and hapinness for all of you! TYpically, my SPOTLIGHT ON: Over 40 Series is the last week of each month, but we all know how busy December gets! For the New Year, I hope to share with you new blog goals, a bit more about me personally, as you get to know me more through my blog as well, and new fashion topics.Today I want to introduce  you to Lorna Mai, a blogger friend, from  Color Queen. I am all for color, as surprisingly I used to wear mostly black. For myself, black is too stark against pale skin, so if I do, I like to wear a color close to my face. Let's hear what Lorna has to say about color and her blog. Later, this month I hope to share with you some of my New Year's Blog Goals.

IMG_0155Hello Ladies! Happy Holidays and Turning heads Tuesday. It was relaxing and a break that I needed, I am glad to be back to 'see" you all, and your fashion. I will be sharing some blog goals later into the New Year, and also sharing some of the new fashion items Santa brought.  One is this Rebecca Minkoff Jungle Green Love bag. It is Love indeed! Speaking of Love, I must inundate you will Gibson and Truffles Santa pictures. Why not right? Today's look is a bit more casual for me with grey jeans, clog boots but a touch of "jess" with the antique beaded neckline, brooch and a pop of color with my new bag. However , today I am sharing with you something new, or perhaps unexpected when you think of my shoe collection. I am reviewing and styling Sandgrens Swedish clog boots! Lets just say I feel a woman can not have too many boots! ( or is it shoes?)  I was contacted and read the website and was impressed with the history and amount of detail that goes into each pair of shoes. Quick! We are going to try something, what is the first thing that comes to mind when I say the word, "clog". Let's try a game of stream of consciousness. For me, it is wood. 8 yrs old, open back. I was trying to picture the last time I wore clogs and I was able to find a picture of me when I was about 8, wearing a pair of clogs with a strap on the back of the open heel. I was smiling, so I must have enjoyed wearing them then. When Sandgrens Clogs contacted me,  and after I reviewed he website; I was able to see that there were many great styles of clogs and clog boots that were modern and trendy, in great colors and workmanship, much more than the open back clog that we often think of. I had to show you the day I went out with a skirt as to what they look like with pattern tights as well as jeans. I also loved that this art was "in the family" and generations have and continue to work at the factory.

IMG_0062IMG_0125Hello LadiesI hope you had a wonderful Christmas vacation! We did, and i will share some pics here and there of the pups and our tree. Santa was good to me, and all of us. I think back of all of the memories I  have, and it seems we need a larger tree due to all of the ornaments we collect and give at Christmas time. Truffles and Gibson went crazy over their doggie stocking as I had put in bags of Zuke Salmon treats, squeaky balls and toys. Santapaws brought them coats to, and those pics will come later, as the weather even on Christmas day was 72 degrees!! I have yet to wear a winter coat in NC. Hubby was sick part of the day, but it was a nice relaxing time as well and I look forward to reading about your Holiday.Today, I am excited to bring to you another post of me styling this wonderful jewelry by Mother and Daughter team, Sylca Designs. This burgundy shell layered necklace caught my eye and as I continued to look, I kept coming back, as  i love the bold look and of course, the color,  made from eco-friendly material, in this case, shells. It is a piece that can be worn dressy, in such a manner that i am sharing here, or just as easily with jeans and a blouse, a bit more dressed down. The earring match, and they have the weight of metal but are made just like the necklace.
