28 Dec Sylca Designs Eco-Friendly Jewelry and Tweed
Hello Ladies
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas vacation! We did, and i will share some pics here and there of the pups and our tree. Santa was good to me, and all of us. I think back of all of the memories I have, and it seems we need a larger tree due to all of the ornaments we collect and give at Christmas time. Truffles and Gibson went crazy over their doggie stocking as I had put in bags of Zuke Salmon treats, squeaky balls and toys. Santapaws brought them coats to, and those pics will come later, as the weather even on Christmas day was 72 degrees!! I have yet to wear a winter coat in NC. Hubby was sick part of the day, but it was a nice relaxing time as well and I look forward to reading about your Holiday.
Today, I am excited to bring to you another post of me styling this wonderful jewelry by Mother and Daughter team, Sylca Designs. This burgundy shell layered necklace caught my eye and as I continued to look, I kept coming back, as i love the bold look and of course, the color, made from eco-friendly material, in this case, shells. It is a piece that can be worn dressy, in such a manner that i am sharing here, or just as easily with jeans and a blouse, a bit more dressed down. The earring match, and they have the weight of metal but are made just like the necklace.
With the burgundy rich color as my inspiration, I reached for my tweed flirty a-line skirt with burgundy black, and grey with detailed pockets in black leather. I wanted this to be my color scheme, with my croc leather pointed Zara booties and my addition of black lace patterned tights. Patterned tights are fun, and can change a look or give it a bit more pizzazz. It seems we have had a “heat wave” here in Charlotte, as this day it was over 70, so my Burgundy wool coat was just for the look, everything else i wore throughout the day.
I have collaborated with Sylca Designs HERE, in a previous post, and enjoy working with Camila, as she is customer service at its best. If you have been following my blog, I love unique jewelry pieces, one of a kind, and vintage. I love jewelry you cant find just anywhere. Sylca Designs is a wonderful company with mother and daughter collaborating on making pieces that are truly standouts. I love that the jewelry is eco-friendly and that the individual pieces are made very artistically, as it is “wearable art”. They have a love of nature, and this is something else I appreciate about the brand. I have always loved the outdoors, enjoy my surroundings and find the woods the most peaceful and serene place to be. I go camping and hiking with my husband as I love to listen to the sounds of the animals at night, enjoy the beauty of nature and the peacefulness, where there are no cell phones, hustle and bustle and feeling of hurriedness. Nature to me is relaxing, calm, and freeing. I love this about Sylca Designs! The eco-friendly designs are made from recycled wood, shells and natural dyes. Sylvia and Camila started Sylca Designs with the goal of ” empowering women to feel fashionable, beautiful, and most importantly confident.” How could one not, with one of these beautiful pieces?”
