Since it took another 11 hours to come home from our visit, I put this together before we left, imagining I might need a few days to recover. Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite styles from this past month of May. It is hard to believe it is June. I feel like this year is going by quickly. On to the fashion notes, there are some great trends I love right now: espadrilles, off the shoulder dresses and shirts, all of the new denim styles, ( kick crops and cullotes) I am still searching for.
Presently, I am in love with all things white, especially for the warm weather, as impractical as it may be some times. Jumpsuits and jumpers are on trend right now, and I will be sharing some jumper looks ( short jumpers) and dressing up the look. Today I am sharing looks that involve floral, off the shoulder, classic black white and red pairings, and military looks. I do love a romantic feminine style, but this takes on many looks.
This look I put together with a find from Poshmark. I was looking for a striped dress, but for me, it has to has something unique to the cut, or details that stand out to me. I love a black and white combo and the silver button detail with the rusching and the angle of the stripes at the waist. The pop of red with my new favorite block heels add some color to this classic color combo . You all know i love unique statement jewelry, this from ZARA as well. Leaning more again to trends, a floral clutch or bag, would be a fun mix of prints. If you were a bit bolder, try to mix patterns with a floral jacket if the weather isn’t too hot.
I dont wear all trends, but have had this dress for almost 8 years! What goes around comes around from LOFT. I am very fond of the off the shoulder look and am looking for others to add. I brought out the lilac color in the dress with my Coach handbag. Jambu footwear gifted me these Sugar Sandals. Memory foam, yes! The off the shoulder trend is very big this year in dresses and tops, balance the look of OTS tops with some cigarette trousers or ankle pants. Another fun trend if you are into denim looks this year is the off the shoulder top with some kick crop jeans!
This look was inspired by when I went to NYFW in the fall and saw Betsey Johnson show. Corsets were worn over shirts, and it gave me this idea. I do like corsets and there are quite a few pretty ones from White House Black Market. If you are one to be more modest or a bit more conservative with your dress, perhaps give this look a try! I am wearing a dotted sheer white blouse from LOFT under my floral pink and green corset. Adding another white piece, one of my favorite springy pieces from Ann Taylor, my eyelet pencil skirt would do the trick. Last, I added my retro pink colored strappy flats to finish the look.
Another outfit showing a variety of looks and my fun with fashion.Inspiration came from this raw edged military jacket with a feminine shape from LOFT that I have had for years. I love the metallic bronze buttons and added metallic earrings and went with a neutral look with the cargo pants and cognac Rebecca Minkoff bag. The fringe sandals and the cut of the jacket, shapely, not boxy, makes it fun and my style! Try the military jacket or style with white trousers or white jeans or pair it with trendy metallic sandals.
