Spring Shoes with Jambu – The Lilly

Morning friends,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I should warn you, as these pictures are PTP ( Prior to Pedicure) 🙂 I did get my pedicure the day we took these later in the day, in prep for more Spring shoe photos. Speaking of Spring shoes and sandals, I am wearing Jambu’s new sandals this season, called the Lillly. Think – comfortable sandals for women! Comfort and style, there’s nothing better!

Jambu’s Lilly

Jambu has gifted me some sandals for Spring, and you know I am a fan, I walked around all day in NYC in my Naomi’s, which have the same base, as these Lillys. I love comfortable shoes for women that aren’t short on the style too!

The Lilly has a rubber all terrain sole, memory foam footbed, are very light, and have velcro to fasten at your ankles. I have skinny ankles so I am thankful for that feature. The criss-cross design is sweet, and it comes in black and taupe.

I have collaborated with Jambu for 3 years now and can attest to the comfort of these shoes.:-)

Do you have a read on the Athleisure Style and Jambu post I wrote last month, featuring a pair of sneakers with style from Jambu.

Outfit

Last week, I talked about the denim jacket as a staple in your closet, a piece that you will get so much wear. My next favorite item, as a staple in my closet, is the denim skirt. I found this skirt a year ago, from LOFT and actually bought 2 for my closet, as when one wears out, I have another! It was hard to find this style- as when I was looking it was either micro mini with rips or a midi style that were few and far between.

I love this top with peaches, browns, and bits of sky blue throughout. I picked up the blue in the blouse with my Spring Kate Spade quilted bag. Wood earrings with browns and blues added to the color scheme. In the pic below, I added another denim jacket with a different wash for contrast.

This area is The Park which I have affectionately named, “Turtle Bay”. We were taking pictures and there had to be 15 turtles popping up in the pond, and on the side of the grass. I just love animals, so it was cute! Often, there are geese there that chase off our pups, but we didn’t have them with us that day.

Weekend

You all know what a regular poster I am ! Last week I was having some stomach issues and pain, so I rested a bit more, listening to my body. I took off Friday, so no post.- Glad to be back today!

Saturday night, hubby and I went first to our favorite wine bar in Uptown, Wooden Vine. We had a glass of granache/tempranillo blend that was so good and ordered appetizers before the show. We enjoyed The Women of Jazz, at Charlotte’s Uptown, Jazz Room, an intimate venue, I have mentioned before. I love feeling like I am in a performers living room sometimes instead of a large concert hall. The music featured great female Jazz artists and since I am a big fan of Ella Fitzgerald, I was excited to go. Nothing a little be-bop and skit-scattin can’t cure! These ladies were all instrumentalist and spoke of a time where you had to sing if you were a female jazz performer, as the instrumentalists weren’t taken as seriously. Times are a’changin’! The crowds in town were crazy as we made our way through the drunken masses that were bar hopping for St Pattys day.

Sunday was St Patty’s Day and there is a bar near our house called the Galway Hooker. The Hooker, a boat “originally built in Ireland, the pub was deconstructed and moved piece-by-piece to its current location off the shores of Lake Norman, just a stone’s throw from Charlotte, North Carolina. The pub is named for Galway Bay, which lies on the west coast of Ireland. We thought to pop in for a bit and have a bit of cheer.

    Jess,

I think you don’t need to apologize for taking time off to rest.
I have made it a priority to work for my clients and for the Influencers of Midlife Summit and pulling back to posting whenever I can without a deadline.
I used to post on Tuesday and Wednesday for link up parties I started but it made me crazy writing to meet deadlines.
I don’t get paid to be a writer so it’s not a priority but I do know we’re a creature of habit and expect to see our favorite bloggers on certain days.
Love the Jambu shoes and the way you styled your denim skirt!

    Hugs,
    Robin

      HI Robin!
Thanks! So right. Yes, I suppose I get used to the regular posting, health is the priority though, so If I don’t feel well on a day, I may not make it. 🙂 I understand. I do enjoy writing, but I get what you are saying. So glad you like the outfit! The memory foam footbed is my favorite. xx

Thank you Lisa! I just wanted to bring out the pop of blue with the top and it is one of my favorite bags for Spring. I was thrilled when I found this skirt! Have a great week!xx

Lilly looks great on you Jess! Love your denim skirt, fits you so well. Your bag is the perfect shade of blue, you are ready for spring! Glad you felt better and had a good weekend. I’d enjoy a Jazz club that’s small and intimate much more than a large concert hall too. My husband went to a Led Zepplin cover band concert over the weekend (Get the Led Out) and really liked it. Looking fantastic my friend!
