TBT-Thrifted Style – Asymmetrical Denim Skirt Styled

As I continue to thrift, I stumbled across this denim skirt I bought for a mere $20.

The Thrifted Denim Midi Skirt

It often is the “thrill of the hunt”!

I saw this asymmetrical denim midi skirt on Mango but never pulled the trigger. As I scoped through Mango, on the Poshmark app, I saw this listed and made an offer and was able to score it shipped for $21. The exact one on Mango is only available in a Medium, and it is ON SALE!

Love this one, as it will accentuate your waist by having an asymmetrical fit at the waist, and add a touch of modernity.  Want it in ECRU for Spring,? As luck would have it, it is on sale! As is this style as well with a little slit in the front.

Denim skirts will always be fun to wear and in style, as long as they are modernized through style, cut or how they are styled.

Here I kept it modern with a classic black turtleneck, and modernized with these fun, patterned brocade booties and suede moto jacket. The ladylike bag with gold handwear also kept it up to date.

Instead of wearing jeans, take out the updated jean skirt, as they can be worn the same way and be a fresh take on style.

How to Style

Tall boots would also look great with this skirt, continuing the long leg line.

Denim on denim is trending, so if you want, pair this style or any denim midi or maxi with a denim shirt or I love the look of a jean jacket as a shirt. ( and wore it HERE). Structure added to more structure certainly is appealing to the eye. I look at trends as something I can easily find in the retail market, but certainly don’t love them all. I find denim skirts to be a classic staple, but what has changed is the cut and style of these skirts.

You saw me wear an ECRU DENIM SKIRT here, and I like the versatility for Spring, and just a change up from the traditional.

They certainly can be worn year round, making them even more practical for your wardrobe!

Style this skirt with a white button down, some metallic mary janes or flats, and sim belt, and add that trench coat. So many ways to wear it!

Happenings

I haven’t been able to blog as much this week ( hope to do a FRi post) as I was having burning, stabbing pain in my chest down my stomach. I thought I had stomach ulcers as I had before. I went through on EGD ( endoscopy) and everything was normal. Went to my doctor and he did a EKG, and also chest xray. Seems he is sending me for a treadmill stress test mid March. In the meantime, he thinks I have Costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the rib cartilage.  Anyhow, not back to my usual self, but I will do the best I can here.

Would you be more apt to buy a different cut of a denim skirt or do you prefer the classic denim midi or maxi?

Have you worn it much this year?

Amazing find on Poshmark! Shipping has gone up so much on there it’s a miracle to get anything for around $20 total! It’s still so fun to look though! That skirt is super cute on you!

Thank you Laura! Oh, I know! Where it used to be 4 or 5 bucks shipping, it is now $8. I take that into account when I make an offer.

I hope you’re soon feeling better. I deal with severe GERD and have had many procedures. It’s just not fun. Your skirt, on the other hand, is really fun! You look so much better than the model on the Mango site! I love it with the suede moto jacket and those boots!

Thanks so much for the link up. I invite you to link up on Thursday evening at the Weekend Traffic Jam!

GERD is terrible and right now, I am dealing with pain. I am hoping to figure out what is going on here, since my Endoscope didn’t show anything. I appreciate your comment!

I have been loving my midi denim skirt and I love that it’s on trend now as I bought it several years ago. Your boots are gorgeous and so is your jacket! I hope you will feel better quite soon!

That’s a perfect skirt! I have a similar one but with a much higher slit which is a bit to high. Yours is better. Love it!
